It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), that she said: We were returning from Makkah after performing Hajj or Umrah, and Sayyiduna Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) was walking ahead of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then some boys of the Ansar met us, who used to go out to receive their families when they arrived.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Grading: This chain has some "lin" (softness, weakness) because of 'Amr bin 'Alqamah, since only his son narrated from him. Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is also disagreement over the wording of this narration, the details of which will come later at number (4991). Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Bayhaqi (5/260) from al-Hakim, with this same chain. (5347). Repetition: This incident will come later in detail at numbers (4991) and (5347). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The hadith of 'Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) is in Muslim (2428): when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from a journey, he (peace and blessings be upon him) was welcomed by the children of his household.
