Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1812

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usayd bin Zuhayr al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Offering one prayer in the Mosque of Quba is equal to one Umrah."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it; however, one of its narrators, Abu al-Abrad, is unknown (majhul).

Explanation & Benefits

Technical note: In the manuscripts the name became "Qutbah", which we have corrected. The author named this narrator "Musa bin Sulaym", whereas according to other imams his name is not known. According to al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, calling him "Ziyad" is an error.

Sahih li-ghayrihi: This narration is sahih li-ghayrihi (sahih through supporting reports), and this chain is of the level of "hasan", because Abu al-Abrad is a Successor (tabi'i), the one narrating from him is trustworthy, and it also has supporting reports.
Technical note: Abu Usamah is Hammad bin Usamah.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Majah (1411) and al-Tirmidhi (324) through various routes from Abu Usamah, with this same chain.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: A supporting report for it is the hadith of Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him), which will come later at number (4325) with a strong chain.

Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) is in Ibn Hibban (1627), and its chain is "hasan".
