أخبرنا دَعلَج بن أحمد السِّجْزي ببغداد، حدثنا محمد بن علي بن زيد المكي، حدثنا سعيد بن منصور، حدثنا يعقوب بن عبد الرحمن وعبد العزيز بن محمد، عن عمرو بن أبي عمرو مولى المطَّلب، عن المطَّلب، عن أبي موسى قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "مَن عَمِلَ سيئةً فكَرِهَها حين يعملُ، وعَمِلَ حسنةً فسُرَّ بها، فهو مؤمنٌ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه بهذا اللفظ، وقد ذكرتُ فيما تقدَّم (3) من خطبة عمر بالجابِيَة وأنهما لم يخرجاه، وهذا بغير ذلك اللفظ أيضًا.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does an evil deed and feels it to be bad while doing it, and does a good deed and is pleased by it, is a believer."
This hadith is sahih on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it with this wording. I have already mentioned, in the sermon of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) at al-Jabiyah, that the two of them did not record it, and this (narration) is also in a different wording from that one.

(2) صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد منقطع، فإنَّ المطَّلب لم يدرك أبا موسى. وهو مكرر الحديث (32).
Grading: On the basis of supporting reports it is "sahih li-ghayrihi" (authentic due to external support).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This particular chain is "munqati'" (broken), because al-Muttalib bin Abd Allah did not live to meet Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him).
Important point: This is a repetition of hadith number (32).
(3) بإثر الحديث (32)، لكن وقع هناك ذهولًا أنهما خرّجا حديث عمر بالجابية.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): After hadith number (32) it is mentioned that the two Shaykhs narrated the "al-Jabiyah" hadith of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), but that was stated there through an oversight.
والجابية: موضع قريب من نَوَى جنوب دمشق.
Note / Clarification: "Al-Jabiyah" is the name of a place near "Nawa", south of Damascus.
