It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to him, and he asked him: Where have you come from? He said: I have drunk from Zamzam. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Did you drink it as it ought to be drunk? He asked: O Abu Abbas, how is that? He said: When you drink it, face the qiblah, mention the name of Allah, drink in three breaths, drink your fill, and when you finish, praise Allah; for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sign between us and the hypocrites is that they do not drink their fill of Zamzam."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs if Uthman bin al-Aswad's hearing from Ibn Abbas is established, and they did not record it.

Weak hadith: In this narration of "al-Mustadrak" the intermediary between 'Uthman bin al-Aswad and Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) has dropped out (been omitted); it is Ibn Abi Mulaykah. Al-Bayhaqi narrated it from Imam al-Hakim with this same chain and established Ibn Abi Mulaykah in it. Defect / Technical note: The students of 'Uthman bin al-Aswad have been inconsistent about Ibn Abi Mulaykah's name; some called him 'Abdullah, some 'Abd al-Rahman, some just Ibn Abi Mulaykah, and some "a companion who sat with Ibn 'Abbas". Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (3061) narrated it through the route of 'Ubaydullah bin Musa from Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr (al-Jumahi). Technical note: Only two people narrated from this narrator (Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman), and no one declared him thiqah.
Technical note: Imam al-Dhahabi, following up on al-Hakim's statement in the "Talkhis", said: "No, by Allah! He did not meet him; he died in 150 AH, and his most senior teacher is Sa'id bin Jubayr".
