It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: When any of you departs (from Makkah), his last act should be the tawaf of the House (the farewell tawaf), except for menstruating women, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) granted them a concession in this.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note: Abu al-Muwajjih is Muhammad bin 'Amr al-Fazari, Abu 'Ammar is al-Husayn bin Hurayth, 'Isa bin Yunus is Ibn Abi Ishaq, and Nafi' is the mawla of Ibn 'Umar. Reference / Source: Imam al-Tirmidhi (944) narrated it via Abu 'Ammar with this same chain and called it "hasan sahih". Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (4182) and Ibn Hibban (3899) narrated it through two routes from 'Isa bin Yunus. Reference / Source: Ahmad, al-Bukhari (330) and al-Nasa'i narrated it through the route of 'Abdullah bin Tawus that Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was strict at first, then he heard of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) concession. Defect / Technical note: Al-Daraqutni criticised the narration of Nafi', but in al-Tahawi's 'Sharh Ma'ani al-Athar' (2/235) the narration of al-Zuhri from Tawus supports that of Nafi': that Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), a year before his death, stated the concession for a menstruating woman. Important point: Imam al-Bukhari's narration (Wuhayb bin Khalid from 'Abdullah bin Tawus) also supports its being marfu'. Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (4183) narrated it through the route of Ibrahim bin Maysarah that Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) kept giving the (strict) verdict for two years and then adopted the view of the concession. Reference / Source: Ibn Majah (3071) narrated it through the route of Ibrahim bin Yazid, but Ibrahim bin Yazid is a "matruk" (abandoned) narrator. (1328). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) in al-Bukhari (329) and Muslim (1328). (1211). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This narration is also reported from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) in al-Bukhari (1757) and Muslim (1211).
