It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from Arafah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) had him ride behind him on his mount. He (peace and blessings be upon him) proceeded with great calm and dignity and said: "O people, hold fast to calm and dignity." And he said: "Making horses and camels race is not righteousness." The narrator said: I did not see his (peace and blessings be upon him) she-camel raising her feet (in haste) until he reached Mina.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.
