It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty boasts of the people of Arafat before the people of the heavens (the angels), and says to them: Look at these servants of Mine; they have come to Me dishevelled and covered in dust."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Sahih li-ghayrihi: This narration is sahih li-ghayrihi (authentic due to supporting reports), and this chain is "hasan" because of Yunus bin Abi Ishaq. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (13/8047) and Ibn Hibban (3852) narrated it through various routes from Yunus bin Abi Ishaq, with this same chain. Reference / Source: Abu Nu'aym al-Asbahani, in "Hilyat al-Awliya'" (3/306), after narrating it as the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), said: It is "sahih" through Sa'id bin al-Musayyab from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), but "gharib" through Mujahid from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and I know of no narrator of it other than Yunus bin Abi Ishaq. (1348). Important point: The hadith of Sa'id bin al-Musayyab from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was narrated by Imam Muslim (1348). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is also the hadith of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin al-'As (may Allah be pleased with him) in Musnad Ahmad (11/7089), and its chain is "strong"; there is no harm in it. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) in Ibn Hibban (3853), and its chain is "strong". Note / Clarification: The words "shu'than ghubran" refer to people with dishevelled hair, covered in dust.
