Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1721

أخبرَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا بِشْر بن موسى، حدثنا الحُمَيدي، حدثنا سفيان بن عُيينة، حدثنا سفيان بن سعيدٍ الثَّوري. وأخبرنا أحمد بن جعفر القَطِيعي، حدثنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل، حدثني أبي، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مَهدي، عن سفيان، عن بُكَير بن عطاء، عن عبد الرحمن بن يَعمَر قال: أتيتُ النبيَّ ﷺ بعَرَفةَ، وأتاه ناسٌ من أهل نجدٍ وهو بعَرفةَ، فسألوه، فأمَرَ مناديًا فنادى: "الحجُّ عَرَفةُ، الحجُّ عَرَفةُ، ومن جاء ليلةَ جَمْعٍ قبل طلوع الفجر فقد أدرَكَ، أيامُ مِنى ثلاثةٌ، من تعجَّل في يومينِ فلا إثمَ عليه، ومن تأخَّر فلا إثمَ عليه"، وأردَفَ رجلًا فنادى (2).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Ya'mar (may Allah be pleased with him) that: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at Arafah. Some people from Najd also came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a caller, who announced: "Hajj is (the standing at) Arafah; Hajj is Arafah itself. Whoever arrives on the night of Muzdalifah before the break of dawn has caught the Hajj. The days of Mina are three: 'Then whoever hastens (to leave) in two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever delays, there is no sin upon him either' [Al-Baqarah: 203]." He (peace and blessings be upon him) had a man ride behind him on his mount, who made this same call.

(2) إسناده صحيح. أبو بكر بن إسحاق اسمه: أحمد، والحميدي: هو عبد الله بن الزبير الأسدي.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Technical note: Abu Bakr bin Ishaq's name is Ahmad, and al-Humaydi refers to Abd Allah bin al-Zubayr al-Asadi.
وأخرجه الترمذي (890) و (2975)، والنسائي (3998)، وابن حبان (3892) من طرق عن سفيان بن عيينة، بهذا الإسناد. قال الترمذي: حديث حسن صحيح. ثم قال: قال ابن أبي عمر - يعني شيخ الترمذي فيه -: قال سفيان بن عيينة: وهذا أجود حديث رواه سفيان الثوري. وقال ابن حبان: قال ابن عيينة: فقلت لسفيان الثوري: ليس عندكم بالكوفة حديث أشرف ولا أحسن من هذا.
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban narrated it by way of Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah. Imam al-Tirmidhi called it "hasan sahih". According to Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, this is the best hadith narrated by Sufyan al-Thawri.
وأخرجه الترمذي (889) عن محمد بن بشار، عن عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، به. ¤ ¤ وأخرجه أحمد (18774) و (18954)، وأبو داود (1949)، وابن ماجه (3015) و (3015 م)، والترمذي (889)، والنسائي (3997) و (4036) من طرق عن سفيان الثوري، به.
