It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the stoning of the Jamarat, the tawaf of the House of Allah, and the sa'i between Safa and Marwah have been prescribed only to establish the remembrance of Allah Almighty."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: Its chain is da'if (weak). Although 'Ubayd Allah bin Abi Ziyad al-Makki al-Qaddah is "hasan al-hadith" in corroborating chains and supporting reports, he is alone in narrating this hadith as marfu'; indeed, there is disagreement over him as to whether it is marfu' or mawquf, and others kept it mawquf.
