Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1676

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took the route of al-Fur' (a place near Madinah), he would begin calling out the talbiyah when his she-camel rose up straight with him.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Grading
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is da'if (weak), because Muhammad bin Ishaq did not explicitly state that he heard it from Abu al-Zinad (Abd Allah bin Dhakwan). According to al-Daraqutni, Muhammad bin Ishaq is alone in narrating this report from Abu al-Zinad, while Ibn Kathir described it as "gharib and munkar".
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (1775) narrated it from Muhammad bin Bashshar from Wahb bin Jarir with this same chain. It contains the addition that when he took a road, he would call out the talbiyah as he ascended the mountain of al-Bayda'.
Important point: "al-Fuz'" (with a dammah on the fa' and a sukun on the waw): this is a vast place in the upper part of Madinah where there were mosques of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), pulpits and many villages.
