أخبرنا أبو الحسين محمد بن أحمد الخيَّاط ببغداد، حدثنا أبو قِلَابة عبد الملك بن محمد، حدثنا أبو عاصم، حدثنا عثمان بن سعد، عن أنس بن مالك قال: كان النبيُ ﷺ لا ينزلُ منزلًا إلّا وَدَّعَه بركعتين (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that at whatever place the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) halted (during a journey), before departing from it he would always bid it farewell with two rak'ahs of prayer.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(1) إسناده ضعيف لضعف عثمان بن سعد، وبه أعلَّه الذهبي في "تلخيصه". أبو عاصم: هو الضحاك بن مخلد النبيل.
Grading: This isnad is da'if (weak) due to the weakness of 'Uthman bin Sa'd, and Imam al-Dhahabi said the same in al-Talkhis.
Criticism of a narrator: Abu 'Asim is al-Dahhak bin Makhlad al-Nabil.
وأخرجه البيهقي في "الدعوات الكبير" (447) عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "al-Da'awat al-Kabir" (447) via the chain of Imam al-Hakim.
وأخرجه الدارمي (2723)، والبزار (6532)، والطبراني في "الأوسط" (3441)، وابن عساكر في "معجم شيوخه" (785) من طرق عن أبي عاصم النبيل، به. قال البزار: وأحاديث عثمان بن سعد إنما ذكرناها لأنَّ ألفاظها تخالف الألفاظ التي تروى عن أنس. وقال ابن عساكر: حديث حسن غريب.
Reference / Source: Al-Darimi, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani narrated it via various routes from Abu 'Asim al-Nabil. Al-Bazzar says that he mentioned the narrations of 'Uthman bin Sa'd because their wordings differ from the other narrations of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
وأخرجه البيهقي في "السنن الكبرى" 5/ 253 من طريق علي بن محمد بن سليمان الخرقي، عن أبي قلابة، عن يحيى بن أبي كثير، عن عثمان بن سعد، به فقال: يحيى بن أبي كثير بدلًا من أبي عاصم.
Variation in the chain: In one of his chains, al-Bayhaqi mentioned the name "Yahya bin Abi Kathir" in place of Abu 'Asim.
