Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 158

حدَّثَناه علي بن حَمْشاذَ، حدثنا موسى بن هارون والحسن بن سفيان قالا: حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة، حدثنا يحيى بن زكريا (1) بن إبراهيم بن سُوَيد النَّخَعي - وكان ثقةً - عن الحسن بن الحَكَم النَّخَعي، عن أبي بُردة قال: سمعتُ عبد الله بن يزيد يقول: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "عذابُ أُمتي في دُنياها" (2).
It is narrated from Abu Burdah that he said: I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The punishment of my Ummah is in its worldly life."

(1) تحرّف لفظ "بن" في النسخ الخطية والمطبوع إلى: عن، فصارا راويين، وليس كذلك، ويحيى ابن زكريا بن إبراهيم ترجمه غير واحد منهم ابن أبي حاتم في "الجرح والتعديل" 9/ 145 وذكر أنه روى عن الحسن بن الحكم وروى عنه عثمان بن أبي شيبة، وقال: سألت أبي عنه فقال: ليس به بأس، صالح الحديث.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts and the printed edition the word "bin" was mistakenly turned into "an" (from), making a single narrator appear to be two separate narrators.
Note / Clarification: Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned the biography of Yahya bin Zakariyya bin Ibrahim in "al-Jarh wa al-Ta'dil" (9/145); Abu Hatim declared him "salih al-hadith" (fair in hadith).
(2) حديث مضطرب كسابقه.
Grading: This hadith, like the previous narration, is also "mudtarib" (inconsistent).
وأخرجه ابن حبان في ترجمة الحسن بن الحكم النخعي من "المجروحين" 1/ 233، والطبراني في "الأوسط" (7164)، و"الصغير" (893) من طريقين عن عثمان بن أبي شيبة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban narrated it in "al-Majruhin" (1/233) and al-Tabarani in "al-Awsat" (7164) and "al-Saghir" (893) through two different routes from Uthman bin Abi Shaybah, with this same chain.
