Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1454

Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) states that she used to wear gold ornaments (awdah). She asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, whether it came under the ruling of "kanz" (the forbidden hoarded treasure about which a warning has come). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wealth whose zakah you have paid does not remain 'kanz' (hoarded treasure)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) It is "hasan li-ghayrihi"; Ahmad bin al-Faraj is hasan al-hadith and has been corroborated. Although 'Ata' is not established to have heard from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), Ibn al-Qattan and al-Hafiz al-'Iraqi declared this chain good (jayyid) and sahih.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (1564) narrated it via the chain of 'Attab bin Bashir with these words: "Wealth that reaches the amount on which zakat is due and whose zakat is paid is not (forbidden) hoarded treasure (kanz)."
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is supported by the hadith of Ibn 'Umar in al-Bukhari (1404) and by the narrations of Jabir and Abu Hurayrah that will come next.
