Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Shaddad bin al-Had states: We went in to the Mother of the Believers Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and she told us that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came in to me and saw some thick silver bangles (sikhab) on my hand. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "O Aishah! What is this?" I said: O Messenger of Allah! I had them made to adorn myself for you. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you pay the zakah on them?" I said: No (or whatever Allah willed). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then they are enough to take you to the Fire."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it.

Grading: (2) Its chain is hasan; Yahya bin Ayyub is saduq (truthful) and hasan al-hadith. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (1565) narrated it via the chain of Abu Hatim al-Razi, with this same chain. (Note / Clarification): The words of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) "sikhaban min wariq" (a necklace of silver): according to Imam al-Nawawi, "sikhab" is a necklace made of cloves, musk and aloeswood that is put on boys and girls, and this narration mentions a silver necklace or rings. The narration of Abu Dawud has the words "fatakhat min wariq" (silver rings).
