Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man died in the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A man came and said: "So-and-so has died." the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "He has not died." The man came a second time and said: "So-and-so has died." He (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: "He has not died." When he came the third time and said: "So-and-so has died," the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "How did he die?" He said that he had killed himself with a broad-headed arrow (mishqas) that he had with him. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not lead the funeral prayer over him.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it!
