حدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتيبة، حدثنا يحيى ابن يحيى، أخبرنا خارجةُ، عن عبد الله بن حسين بن عطاءٍ، عن أبي الأسباط الحارثيِّ، عن يحيى بن أبي كثير، عن أبي سلمة، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "المؤمنُ غرٌّ كريم، والفاجرُ خب لئيم" (3).
هذا حديث تداوله الأئمةُ بالرواية، وأقام بعضُ الرواة إسناده، فأما الشيخان فإنهما لم يحتجَّا بالحجَّاج بن فُرافصة ولا ببِشر بن رافع.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The believer is simple-hearted and good-hearted, and the wicked person is deceitful and base."
This is a hadith which the imams took from one another through narration, and some narrators established its chain. As for the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), they used neither al-Hajjaj bin Furafisah nor Bishr bin Rafi' as evidence.

(3) إسناده ضعيف جدًا، خارجة -وهو ابن مصعب أبو الحجاج الخراساني- متروك الحديث، وعبد الله بن حسين بن عطاء فيه نظر كما قال البخاري في تاريخه 5/ 72، وأبو الأسباط الحارثي: ¤ ¤ هو بشر بن رافع كما ذكر المصنف سابقًا، وهو ضعيف، وما قبله من الأسانيد يغني عنه. يحيى ابن يحيى: هو النيسابوري.
Grading: This chain is "very weak".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Kharijah bin Mus'ab is "matruk al-hadith"; about Abdullah bin Husayn, Imam al-Bukhari said "fihi nazar" (he is questionable); and Abu al-Asbat al-Harithi (Bishr bin Rafi') is also weak.
Important point: The previous chains suffice for this narration.
Note / Clarification: Yahya bin Yahya is "Yahya bin Yahya al-Naysaburi".
وأخرجه ابن عدي في "الكامل في الضعفاء" 2/ 12 من طريق حمدان السلمي -وهو أحمد بن يوسف الأزدي الحافظ- عن يحيى بن يحيى النيسابوري، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ibn Adi narrated it in "al-Kamil fi al-Du'afa'" (2/12) via Hamdan al-Sulami (al-Hafiz Ahmad bin Yusuf al-Azdi) from Yahya bin Yahya al-Naysaburi with this same chain.
Grading: This chain is "very weak".
