أخبرنا مُكْرَم بن أحمد القاضي، حدثنا محمد بن إسماعيل السُّلَمي، حدثنا أيوب بن سليمان بن بلال، حدثني أبو بكر، عن سليمان بن بلال، قال: قال زيد بن أسلم: قال محمد بن المُنكدِر: سمعت جابر بن عبد الله يقول: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ألا أنبِّئكم بخِيارِكم من شِراركم؟ " قالوا: بلى، قال: "خيارُكم أطوَلُكم أعمارًا، وأحسَنُكم عملًا" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. وله شاهدٌ صحيحٌ على شرط مسلم:

Muhammad bin al-Munkadir said: I heard Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you who are the best of you, as distinct from the worst of you?" The Companions said: "Of course!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of you are those with the longest lives and the best deeds."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it. And it has a sahih supporting witness (shahid) on the condition of Imam Muslim:

(1) إسناده صحيح، أبو بكر: هو عبد الحميد بن أبي أويس، أخو إسماعيل بن أبي أويس.
Grading: (1) Its chain is sahih. Abu Bakr refers to 'Abd al-Hamid bin Abi Uways.
وأخرجه البيهقي 3/ 371 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
