حدثنا أبو علي الحسين بن علي الحافظ، حدثنا الحسين بن إدريس الأنصاري، حدثنا محمود بن غَيْلان، حدثنا وكيع، حدثنا سفيان، عن الأسْوَد بن قيس، عن ثَعلَبة بن عبَّاد، عن سَمُرة بن جُندُب قال: صلَّى بنا النبي ﷺ في كُسوفٍ لا نَسمَعُ له صوتًا (1).

Tha'labah bin Abbad narrates from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in a prayer during a solar eclipse in which we could not hear his (peace and blessings be upon him) voice."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) حسن لغيره، وهذا إسناد فيه ضعف لجهالة ثعلبة بن عبّاد، وبه أعلّه الذهبي في "تلخيصه". سفيان: هو الثوري.
Grading: (1) It is "hasan li-ghayrihi"; this chain is weak because Tha'labah bin 'Abbad is unknown (majhul), and al-Dhahabi faulted it on this basis. Sufyan refers to al-Thawri.
وأخرجه الترمذي (562) عن محمود بن غيلان، بهذا الإسناد. وقال: حديث حسن صحيح، وقد ذهب بعض أهل العلم إلى هذا، وهو قول الشافعي.
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (562) narrated it, called it "hasan sahih", and said that it is the view of Imam al-Shafi'i.
وأخرجه أحمد 33/ (20160)، وابن ماجه (1264)، وابن حبان (2851) من طريق وكيع، به.

ويشهد له حديث ابن عباس عند أحمد في "المسند" 4/ (2674) وإسناده حسن.
