Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1256

Ubaydullah bin al-Nadr narrates from his father, who said: Darkness fell in the time of Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). I came to Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "O Abu Hamzah! Did you people face anything like this in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He said: "Refuge is with Allah! If ever the wind blew strongly, we would rush to the mosque for fear of the Resurrection."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it. This Ubaydullah is the son of al-Nadr bin Anas bin Malik, and the two Shaykhs used al-Nadr as evidence.

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) Its chain is fit to be graded hasan.
Technical note: Al-Nadr (the father of 'Ubaydullah) had two narrators take from him and Ibn Hibban listed him in al-Thiqat, but he is not "al-Nadr bin Anas" as al-Hakim mistakenly thought; rather, he is al-Nadr bin 'Abdullah al-Qaysi.
Technical note: Muhammad bin Abi Safwan refers to Muhammad bin 'Uthman.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (1196) narrated it through Harami bin 'Umarah with this same chain.
Reference / Source: It is narrated in al-Bukhari (1034) and Ibn Hibban that when a strong wind blew, signs (of concern) appeared on his (peace and blessings be upon him) blessed face.
