Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1258

Urwah narrates from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: "The sun went into eclipse in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Indeed the sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah; they do not go into eclipse because of anyone's death or life. So when you see them (in eclipse), give charity, pray, say the takbir and supplicate to Allah.'"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with these words.
