حدثنا عمرو بن محمد العَدْلُ وأحمد بن يعقوب الثَّقَفي، قالا: حدثنا عمر بن حفص السَّدُوسي، حدثنا عاصم بن علي، حدثنا الليث بن سعد، عن هشام بن عُروة، عن عروة، عن عائشة قالت: خَسَفَت الشمسُ على عهد رسول الله ﷺ، فذكر الحديث وقال فيه: "فإذا رأيتُم ذلك فادْعُوا الله وصلُّوا وتصدَّقوا وأعتِقُوا" (2).

Urwah narrates from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: "The sun went into eclipse in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." Then she narrated the hadith, and in it she said: "So when you see that, supplicate to Allah, pray, give charity and free slaves."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).

(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل عاصم بن علي - وهو ابن عاصم بن صهيب الواسطي - وقد توبع.
Grading: (2) It is a "sahih hadith"; the chain is "hasan" because of 'Asim bin 'Ali, and he has been corroborated.
وأخرجه مطوَّلًا ومختصرًا أحمد 40/ (24045) و 41/ (24571) و 42/ (25312) و (25352)، والبخاري (1044) و (1058)، ومسلم (901) (1) و (2)، وأبو داود (1191)، والنسائي (1872)، وابن حبان (2845) و (2846) من طرق عن هشام بن عروة، بهذا الإسناد. ¤ ¤ ووقع في روايتي البخاري (1058) وأحمد (24571): "فإذا رأيتم ذلك فافزعوا إلى الصلاة" ليس فيهما: "ادعوا وتصدقوا وأعتقوا"، ورواية أحمد (24045) ذكر صفة صلاة الكسوف بطول القيام والركوع، ولم يذكر فيها: "فإذا رأيتم ذلك … " إلى آخره.
Reference / Source: Ahmad, al-Bukhari, Muslim (901), Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i narrated it through various chains from Hisham bin 'Urwah. Some narrations of al-Bukhari and Ahmad contain the words "hasten to the prayer" (fa-afza'u ila al-salah), but charity and the freeing of slaves are not mentioned.
وستأتي قطع من حديث الكسوف من طريق عروة عن عائشة، بالأرقام (1254) و (1255) و (1258)، ومن طريق عطاء عن عائشة برقم (1251).
Repetition: Parts of it will come later through 'Urwah from 'A'ishah (1254, 1255, 1258), and through 'Ata' at (1251).
