Mustadrak al-Hakim 1248 — The command to free slaves during a solar

أخبرَناه إسماعيل بن محمد بن الفَضْل بن محمد الشَّعراني، حدثنا جَدِّي، حدثنا إبراهيم بن حمزة، حدثنا عبد العزيز بن محمد، عن هشام بن عُرْوة، عن فاطمة بنت المُنذِر، عن أسماءَ بنت أبي بكر قالت: أمَرَ رسولُ الله ﷺ بَعَتَاقةٍ حين كَسَفتِ الشَّمس (1).

Hisham bin Urwah narrates from Fatimah bint al-Mundhir, who narrates from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the freeing of slaves when the sun went into eclipse."

Grading: (1) It is a "sahih hadith", and the chain is "hasan" because its narrators are saduq (truthful).
وعلَّقه البخاري بإثر الحديث (2519) عن علي بن المديني عن عبد العزيز الدراوردي.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Bukhari mentioned it mu'allaq after no. (2519) through 'Ali bin al-Madini.
