Book of Voluntary Prayers
مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَى أَرْبَعِ رَكْعَاتٍ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَأَرْبَعٍ بَعْدَهَا حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّارِ
Whoever keeps up four rak'ahs before Zuhr and four after it, Allah will forbid him to the Fire

فأخبرَناه أبو بكر أحمد بن سلمان الفقيه، حدثنا الحسن بن مُكْرَم، حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا داود بن أبي هند. وأخبرنا أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله الشافعي، حدثنا معاذ بن المثنَّى، حدثنا مسدَّد، حدثنا بِشْر بن المفضَّل، حدثنا داود بن أبي هند، عن النعمان بن سالم، عن عَنْبَسة بن أبي سفيان، عن أُمِّ حَبِيبة بنت أبي سفيان قالت: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "من صلَّى ثِنتي عشرةَ سجدةً تطوُّعًا، بنى الله له بيتًا في الجنة" (1). وأما حديث مكحول:
The Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever prays twelve voluntary rak'ahs, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."

(1) حديث صحيح، على وهمٍ في إسناده، فقد اختُلف فيه على داود بن أبي هند:
Grading: (1) It is a "sahih hadith", although an error (wahm) occurred in its chain in the narrations from Dawud bin Abi Hind.
فرواه عنه يزيد بن هارون هنا، وهشيم بن بشير عند أحمد 45/ (27395)، عن النعمان بن سالم، بهذا الإسناد. بلا واسطة بين النعمان وعنبسة.
Reference / Source: Yazid bin Harun and Hushaym bin Bashir (Ahmad 45/27395) narrated it from al-Nu'man bin Salim from 'Anbasah without any intermediary.
ورواه عنه سليمان بن حيان عند مسلم (728) (101)، وإسماعيل ابن علية عند أبي داود (1250)، عن النعمان بن سالم، عن عمرو بن أوس، عن عنبسة، عن أم حبيبة. وصحَّح ذلك الدارقطني في "العلل" (4026).
Reference / Source: Sulayman bin Hayyan (Muslim 728) and Ibn 'Ulayyah (Abu Dawud 1250) added the intermediary "'Amr bin Aws" between al-Nu'man and 'Anbasah. Al-Daraqutni held this to be correct.
ورواه عنه بشر بن المفضل، واختلف عليه فيه:
Variation in the chain: There is disagreement in the narration from Bishr bin al-Mufaddal:
فرواه عنه مسدد بن مسرهد هنا، عن داود بن أبي هند به، دون ذكر عمرو بن أوس.
Reference / Source: Musaddad bin Musarhad narrated it here from Bishr without mentioning 'Amr bin Aws.
وخالفه أبو غسان المسمعي عند مسلم (728) (102)، وحميد بن مسعدة عند النسائي (492)، فروياه عن بشر بن المفضل، عن داود بن أبي هند، عن النعمان بن سالم، عن عمرو بن أوس، عن عنبسة، عن أم حبيبة.
Reference / Source: Abu Ghassan al-Misma'i (Muslim 728) and Humayd bin Mas'adah (al-Nasa'i 492) narrated it from Bishr with the intermediary of 'Amr bin Aws.
وأخرجه أحمد 44/ (26775) و (26781)، ومسلم (728) (103)، والنسائي (491)، وابن حبان (2451) من طريق شعبة بن الحجاج، عن النعمان بن سالم، عن عمرو بن أوس، عن عنبسة، عن أم حبيبة.
