Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1142

فأخبرَناه أبو سهل أحمد بن محمد بن زياد النَّحْويُّ ببغداد، حدثنا عبد الكريم بن الهيثم، حدثنا محمد بن عيسى بن الطَّباع، حدثنا يزيد بن يوسف الحِمْيري، حدثنا محمد بن الوليد الزُّبيدي، عن الزهري، عن عطاء بن يزيد، عن أبي أيوب قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "الوتر خمسٌ، أو ثلاثٌ، أو واحدةٌ" (1). وأما حديث سفيان بن عُيينة:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Witr is five, or three, or one (rak'ah)."

(1) حديث صحيح، على خلاف في رفعه ووقفه كما سبق، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لضعف يزيد بن يوسف الحِميَري، وهو الرحبي الصنعاني، وقد توبع.
Grading: (1) It is a "sahih hadith" on the basis of the supporting reports; Yazid bin Yusuf al-Himyari is weak, but he has been corroborated.
وأخرجه الدارقطني (1642) عن إبراهيم بن دبيس الحداد، عن عبد الكريم بن الهيثم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: al-Daraqutni (1642) narrated it through the chain of Abd al-Karim bin al-Haytham.
وأخرجه الدارقطني أيضًا (1642) من طريق محمد بن يحيى، عن محمد بن عيسى بن الطباع، به.
