Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1107

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he went out to the Eid prayer ground on the day of Eid and did not pray any (voluntary) prayer before or after it, and he mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did the same.
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it with this wording; however, both of them agreed on the hadith of Sa'id bin Jubayr from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not pray any prayer before the Eid prayer or after it.
