حدثني جعفر بن محمد بن الحارث، حدثنا جعفر بن محمد الفِرْيابيّ، حدثنا محمود بن خالد الدِّمشقي، حدثنا الوليد بن مُسلِم، أخبرني شَيبانُ أبو معاوية، عن سِمَاك بن حَرْب، عن جابر بن سَمُرة، قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ لا يُطيلُ الموعظةَ يومَ الجمعةَ، إنّما هُنّ كلماتٌ يَسيرات (1).
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would not make the admonition long on Friday; rather, his (peace and blessings be upon him) sermon consisted of a few brief words.

(1) صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل سماك بن حرب. شيبان أبو معاوية: هو ابن عبد الرحمن النحوي. Grading: (1) It is "sahih li-ghayrihi" (authentic due to supporting reports), and the chain is "hasan" because of Simak bin Harb. Technical note: Shayban Abu Mu'awiyah refers to Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Nahwi. وأخرجه أبو داود (1107) عن محمود بن خالد الدمشقي، بهذا الإسناد. Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (1107) narrated it through the chain of Mahmud bin Khalid, by this same chain. وانظر ما سلف برقم (1069). Technical note: It has passed at number (1069).
