Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1078

(3) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد فيه لِينٌ من أجل أبي راشد، فقد تفرَّد بالرواية عنه عدي بن ثابت، وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات"، وقال الذهبي في "الميزان": لا يعرف. ¤ ¤ وقد اختلف فيه على عدي بن ثابت، فرواه مسعر عنه عن عمار مرسلًا، كما في "علل الدارقطني" (835).
Grading: (3) The hadith is sahih, but this chain is slightly "layyin" (soft) because of Abu Rashid, since only Adi bin Thabit narrated from him. According to al-Daraqutni, in the narration of Mis'ar it is reported from Ammar as "mursal".
لكن معنى الحديث صحيح من حديث عمار بن ياسر، فسيأتي عند المصنف برقم (5788) بإسناد صحيح من طريق أبي وائل شقيق بن سلمة قال: خطَبَنا عمار بن ياسر فأبلغ وأوجز، فقلنا: يا أبا اليقظان، لقد أبلغت وأوجزت، فقال: إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "إنَّ طول الصلاة وقصر الخطبة مَئِنّةٌ من فقه الرجل، فأطيلوا الصلاة وأقصروا الخطبة". وهو في "صحيح مسلم" وسيأتي تخريجه في موضعه.
Important point: The meaning of the hadith is authentically established from Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him); it will come with the author (al-Hakim) at number (5788) with a sahih chain: "The length of a man's prayer and the shortness of his sermon are a sign of his understanding" (Muslim).
أما حديث أبي راشد فقد أخرجه أبو داود (1106) عن محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (1106) narrated the hadith of Abu Rashid through the chain of Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr.
وأخرج أحمد 31/ (18889) عن عبد الله بن نمير، به إلى أبي راشد قال: خطبنا عمار فتجوَّز في خطبته، فقال له رجل من قريش: لقد قلته قولًا شفاءًا، فلو أنك أطلت، فقال: إنَّ رسول الله ﷺ نهى أن نطيل الخطبة.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (31/18889) narrated it through the chain of Ibn Numayr, that Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a brief sermon and someone said: if only you had made it a little longer; he replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from making the sermon long.
