Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1039

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The master of all days is Friday. On it Adam (peace be upon him) was created, on it he was admitted into Paradise, on it he was expelled from it, and the Hour will be established on none other than Friday."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, for he cited Abd al-Rahman bin Abi al-Zinad as a supporting narrator; but the two Shaykhs did not record the words "Sayyid al-ayyam" (the master of days).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) This is a "sahih hadith". Because of Musa bin Abi Uthman and his father, this chain is "hasan" in corroboration. Ibn Abi al-Zinad is Abd al-Rahman.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (2710) through the chain of al-Hakim.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn Khuzaymah (1728) narrated it through the chain of al-Rabi' bin Sulayman, but because the name of Abu Uthman had dropped out of it, he considered it "mursal" and called his inclusion of it a mistake; however, Ibn Hajar made clear that al-Hakim's narration ("from his father") shows it is muttasil (connected).
Reference / Source: Abu Tahir al-Mukhallis narrated it through the chain of Yahya bin Sulayman from Ibn Abi al-Zinad.
Reference / Source: Ahmad, Muslim (854), al-Tirmidhi (488) and al-Nasa'i (1675) narrated it with a similar meaning through the routes of al-A'raj and Ibn Farrukh. Al-Tirmidhi called it "hasan sahih".
Repetition: It will come later in detail at no. (1043, 1044) and in brief at no. (4043).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: See the hadith of Aws bin Aws al-Thaqafi later at no. (1042).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Abu Lubabah al-Badri is in Ahmad and Ibn Majah (1084), but its chain is weak.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The narration of Sa'd bin Ubadah is also in Ahmad (37/22457) with a weak chain.
