It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has not prayed the two (sunnah) rak'ahs of Fajr until the sun rises, let him pray them (afterwards)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
(Note / Clarification): (2) That is, when the sun has risen (no. 1166). Variation in the chain: Amr bin Asim al-Kilabi is alone in narrating it from Hammam with this wording, and this is its defect, since others have contradicted him, as will be made clear at the narration of Abu Qilabah.
