Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade istifaz in prayer (that is, prostrating restlessly or not resting the limbs fully on the ground).
This hadith is sahih on the condition of Imam Bukhari, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
(151). Grading: (1) Its chain is sahih. Al-Hasan al-Basri's hearing from Samurah is established (see hadith 151). Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi (2/281) narrated it via Imam al-Hakim, with this same chain. Reference / Source: Ahmad (33/20111) narrated via the chain of Sa'id bin Bashir from Qatadah that "we were commanded to be balanced in sitting" and not to be hasty. Sa'id bin Bashir has some weakness but is taken into account in corroborations.
(Clarification): "Yastawfiz al-rajul" means hurrying in prayer, which is contrary to tranquillity (tuma'ninah); this is supported by the story of the man who prayed badly and whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent back again and again (al-Bukhari 757, 793; Muslim 397).
