It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon a person from among the people of Paradise will come to you." After a short while, Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar (Abu Bakr) arrived. We congratulated him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon another person from among the people of Paradise will come to you." After a short while, Sayyiduna Umar arrived. We congratulated him as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then said: "Soon another person from among the people of Paradise will come to you," and he said, "O Allah, if You will, let the one who comes be Ali." Accordingly, Sayyiduna Ali arrived, and we congratulated him as well.

When we started stoning him and he felt its pain, he began to say, 'People, take me back to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); my people have killed me and deceived me, saying that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will not kill you in any case.' But we did not stop until we finished him. When we returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we told him what he had said. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Why did you not leave him and bring him to me?' In fact, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to investigate the matter further."

And if you get lost on the way, then call the Adhan. Also, do not pray standing in the middle of the road, nor camp there, because those are the abodes of snakes and wild beasts, and do not relieve yourself there, for that is a cause of curse.

Then he performed a long bowing (ruku‘), then stood up for a long time after raising his head, then performed another long bowing, and then stood up for a long time after raising his head, then performed two prostrations. In the second rak‘ah, he did the same. Thus, there were four bowings and four prostrations in this prayer.
