Hadith 15145
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
زُهَيْرٌ , عَنْ
أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَغْلِقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ , وَأَوْكِئُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ , وَخَمِّرُوا الْإِنَاءَ , وَأَطْفِئُوا السُّرُجَ , فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ غُلُقًا , وَلَا يَحُلُّ وِكَاءً , وَلَا يَكْشِفُ إِنَاءً , فَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you go to sleep at night, close the doors, cover the vessels, extinguish the lamps, and tie the mouths of the water skins, for Satan cannot open a closed door, cannot remove a cover, and cannot untie a knot. And sometimes a mouse becomes the cause of burning down the whole house.
Hadith 15146
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whenever a believing man or woman, or a Muslim man or woman falls ill, Allah forgives their sins.
Hadith 15147
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by him while he was picking peelu (berries). A man presented the picked peelu to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If I were in a state of ablution, I would have eaten it even then.
Hadith 15148
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ
جَابِرًا , عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ ، وَالسِّنَّوْرِ , فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَجَرَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ " .
Abu al-Zubair says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the ruling on the price of a dog and a cat: so he replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) strictly forbade it.
Hadith 15149
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي
جَابِرٌ , أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ سَرَقَتْ , فَعَاذَتْ بِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ حِبّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَأُتِيَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : " لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةَ لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا " فَقَطَعَهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman from Banu Makhzum committed theft. She tried to escape punishment by seeking intercession through the beloved of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid. When she was brought before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Even if my daughter Fatimah had committed theft, I would have cut off her hand." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had her hand cut off.
Hadith 15150
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ
جَابِرًا , عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُطَلِّقُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ , فَقَالَ : طَلَّقَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ , فَأَتَى عُمَر ُرَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ ذَلِكَ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لِيُرَاجِعْهَا , فَإِنَّهَا امْرَأَتُهُ " .
Abu Zubair says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the ruling regarding a person who divorces his wife during her menstrual period. He replied that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar had also once divorced his wife during her menstrual period. Sayyiduna Umar mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that he should take her back because she is his wife.
Hadith 15151
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ
جَابِرًا هَلْ رَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : نَعَمْ , رَجَمَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ , وَرَجُلًا مِنَ الْيَهُودِ , وَامْرَأَةً , وَقَالَ لِلْيَهُودِيِّ : " نَحْنُ نَحْكُمُ عَلَيْكُم الْيَوْمَ " .
Abu al-Zubair says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carried out stoning (rajm)? He replied: Yes, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stoned a man from the tribe of Aslam, a Jewish man, and a woman. And he said to the Jew: Today we will judge you.
Hadith 15152
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " زَجَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَصِلَ الْمَرْأَةُ بِرَأْسِهَا شَيْئًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) strictly forbade a woman from adding other hair to her own head.
Hadith 15153
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الرَّجُلُ بِشِمَالِهِ , فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْكُلُ بِشِمَالِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating with the left hand, because Satan eats with the left hand.
Hadith 15154
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ السُّنْبُلَةِ , تَسْتَقِيمُ مَرَّةً وَتَخِرُّ مَرَّةً , وَمَثَلُ الْكَافِرِ مَثَلُ الْأَرْزَةِ , لَا تَزَالُ مُسْتَقِيمَةً حَتَّى تَخِرَّ وَلَا تَشْعُرُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The example of a Muslim is like that of an ear of wheat, which sometimes bends and sometimes stands upright, and the example of a disbeliever is like that of a stalk of rice, which always remains standing until it falls, and no hair grows on it (or it does not realize it).
Hadith 15155
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ
جَابِرًا ، كَمْ طَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا والْمَرْوَةِ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً " .
Abu al-Zubair says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform Sa'i only once?
Hadith 15156
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
هُشَيْمٌ , أَخْبَرَنَا
مُجَالِدٌ , عَنِ
الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ
جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكِتَابٍ أَصَابَهُ مِنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْكُتُبِ , فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَغَضِبَ , وَقَالَ : " أَمُتَهَوِّكُونَ فِيهَا يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ , وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ , لَقَدْ جِئْتُكُمْ بِهَا بَيْضَاءَ نَقِيَّةً , لَا تَسْأَلُوهُمْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فَيُخْبِرُوكُمْ بِحَقٍّ فَتُكَذِّبُوا بِهِ , أَوْ بِبَاطِلٍ فَتُصَدِّقُوا بِهِ , وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ , لَوْ أَنَّ مُوسَى كَانَ حَيًّا , مَا وَسِعَهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَّبِعَنِي " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Sayyiduna Umar came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a book that he had obtained from a person of the People of the Book, and he began to read it before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became angry and said, "O Ibn Khattab, are you inclined towards this? By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I have brought to you a Shariah that is clear and pure. Do not ask the People of the Book about anything, for it may be that they tell you something true and you deny it, or they tell you something false and you affirm it. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if Musa (Moses) were alive, he would have no choice but to follow me."
Hadith 15157
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah on the day of the conquest of Makkah, he was wearing a black turban.
Hadith 15158
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hunting land animals is lawful for you in the state of Ihram, provided that you do not hunt them yourselves, nor are they hunted for your sake."
Hadith 15159
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا
حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , أَخْبَرَنَا
أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى زَمَنَ خَيْبَرَ عَنِ الْبَصَلِ وَالْكُرَّاثِ , فَأَكَلَهُمَا قَوْمٌ , ثُمَّ جَاءُوا إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَمْ أَنْهَ عَنْ هَاتَيْنِ الشَّجَرَتَيْنِ الْمُنْتِنَتَيْنِ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , وَلَكِنْ أَجْهَدَنَا الْجُوعُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَكَلَهُمَا فَلَا يَحْضُرْ مَسْجِدَنَا , فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَتَأَذَّى مِمَّا يَتَأَذَّى مِنْهُ بَنُو آدَمَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (the eating of) onions and garlic at the time of Khaybar. However, some people ate them and then came to the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "Did I not forbid you from eating these two foul-smelling trees?" The people said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah! But we were overcome by hunger." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats from this foul-smelling tree should not come near our mosque, for that which causes harm to humans also causes harm to the angels."
Hadith 15160
Muhammad bin Munkadir says that once I went to the house of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him). He was wrapped in a single cloth and was performing prayer, although another sheet was lying near him. When he finished the prayer with salam, we asked him about this issue. He replied: I did this so that fools like you may see that I am praying in a single cloth. I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praying in this manner.
Hadith 15161
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
زَائِدَةُ , حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ , عَنْ
جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ الْمُقَدَّمُ , وَشَرُّهَا الْمُؤَخَّرُ , وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ الْمُؤَخَّرُ , وَشَرُّهَا الْمُقَدَّمُ , يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ , إِذَا سَجَدَ الرِّجَالُ فَاغْضُضْنَ أَبْصَارَكُنَّ , لَا تَرَيْنَ عَوْرَاتِ الرِّجَالِ مِنْ ضِيقِ الْأُزُرِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best row among the rows of men is the first row, and the least among them is the last row, whereas among the rows of women, the least is the first row and the best is the last row. Then he said: O group of women, when the men go into prostration, lower your gaze and do not look at the private parts of men through the openings of their lower garments.
Hadith 15162

زَائِدَةُ , عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ , عَنْ
جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : مَشَيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , إِلَى امْرَأَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ , فَذَبَحَتْ لَنَا شَاةً , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيَدْخُلَنَّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " ، فَدَخَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ , فَقَالَ : " لَيَدْخُلَنَّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " ، فَدَخَلَ عُمَرُ , فَقَالَ : " لَيَدْخُلَنَّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " , فَقَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ شِئْتَ , فَاجْعَلْهُ عَلِيًّا " ، فَدَخَلَ عَلِيٌّ ، ثُمَّ أُتِينَا بِطَعَامٍ , فَأَكَلْنَا , فَقُمْنَا إِلَى صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ , وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ أَحَدٌ مِنَّا , ثُمَّ أُتِينَا بِبَقِيَّةِ الطَّعَامِ , ثُمَّ قُمْنَا إِلَى الْعَصْرِ , وَمَا مَسَّ أَحَدٌ مِنَّا مَاءً .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were attending a meal invitation with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the house of an Ansari woman, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon a man from Paradise will come to you." After a short while, Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar (Abu Bakr) arrived. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon another man from Paradise will come to you." After a little while, Sayyiduna Umar arrived. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: "Soon another man from Paradise will come to you," and he said: "O Allah, if You will, let the one who comes be Ali." Accordingly, Sayyiduna Ali came. Then food was brought, which we ate. Then we stood up for the Zuhr prayer, and none of us performed ablution. After the prayer, the remaining food was brought. Then we stood up for the Asr prayer, and none of us even touched water.
Hadith 15163

مُؤَمَّلٌ , حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ
أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ , فَقَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ فَطُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَحِلُّوا وَاجْعَلُوهَا عُمْرَةً , إِلَّا مَنْ سَاقَ الْهَدْيَ " ، قَالَ : فَسَطَعَتِ الْمَجَامِرُ , وَوُقِعَتِ النِّسَاءُ , فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ التَّرْوِيَةِ , أَهْلَلْنَا بِالْحَجِّ ، قَالَ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , عُمْرَتُنَا هَذِهِ , أَلِعَامِنَا أَمْ لِلْأَبَدِ ؟ ، قَالَ : لَا , بَلْ لِلْأَبَدِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj. When we reached Makkah Mukarramah, we performed the Tawaf of the Ka'bah, performed Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not have a sacrificial animal should come out of Ihram. So after that, we went to our wives, wore stitched clothes, and applied perfume. On the eighth of Dhul-Hijjah, we put on the Ihram for Hajj. During this time, Sayyiduna Suraqah bin Malik also came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, is the command for 'Umrah only for this year or forever?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is forever.
Hadith 15164
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
مُؤَمَّلٌ , حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ
أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنْ عِشْتُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ , نَهَيْتُ أَنْ يُسَمَّى بَرَكَةُ وَيَسَارٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If I remain alive, then insha’Allah I will strictly forbid people from naming (their children) Barakah, Yasaar, and Nafi’.
Hadith 15165

عَلِيٌّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ
أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِابْنِ صَائِدٍ : " مَا تَرَى ؟ " ، قَالَ : أَرَى عَرْشًا عَلَى الْمَاءِ , أَوْ قَالَ عَلَى الْبَحْرِ , حَوْلَهُ حَيَّاتٌ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ذَاكَ عَرْشُ إِبْلِيسَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Ibn Sayyad, "O Ibn Sayyad, what do you see?" He said, "I see a throne upon water, around which are snakes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "That is the throne of Iblis."

جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : بَعَثَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَاجَةٍ , فَلَمَّا رَجَعْتُ , سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ , فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ , قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْكَ , فَلَمْ تَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ ! قَالَ : " إِنِّي كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي " ، وَهُوَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ مُتَوَجِّهًا لِغَيْرِ الْقِبْلَةِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me for some task of his. I went, and when I returned after completing the task, I greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with salam, but he did not reply. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, I said: O Messenger of Allah! I greeted you with salam, but you did not reply. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I was performing prayer at that time. At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on his mount and was not facing the qiblah.
Hadith 15167

كَثِيرِ بْنِ شِنْظِيرٍ , عَنْ
عَطَاءٍ , عَنْ
جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَمِّرُوا الْآنِيَةَ , وَأَوْكِئُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ , وَأَجِيفُوا الْبَابَ , وَأَطْفِئُوا الْمَصَابِيحَ عِنْدَ الرُّقَادِ , فَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ رُبَّمَا اجْتَرَّتِ الْفَتِيلَةَ فَأَحْرَقَتِ الْبَيْتَ , وَأَكْفِتُوا صِبْيَانَكُمْ عِنْدَ الْمَسَاءِ , فَإِنَّ لِلْجِنِّ انْتِشَارًا وَخَطْفَةً " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you go to sleep at night, close the doors, cover the vessels, extinguish the lamps, and tie the mouths of the water skins, because Satan cannot open a closed door, cannot remove a cover, and cannot untie a knot. And sometimes a mouse becomes the cause of burning down the whole house.
Hadith 15168
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى , أَخْبَرَنَا
مَالِكٌ , عَنْ
أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ أَكْلِ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ , ثُمَّ قَالَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ : " كُلُوا , وَتَزَوَّدُوا , وَادَّخِرُوا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating the meat of sacrifice after three days. Later, he said: Now eat it, take it as provision for the journey, and store it.
Hadith 15169
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) started the Tawaf from the corner of the Black Stone, walked briskly (raml) until he returned to the Black Stone, and in this way performed raml in three circuits.
Hadith 15170
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out of Masjid al-Haram and proceeded towards Safa, I heard him say: "We will begin from where Allah has begun (as mentioned earlier)."
Hadith 15171

عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ :
مَالِكٌ . ح , وَحَدَّثَنَا
إِسْحَاقُ , أَخْبَرَنَا
مَالِكٌ , عَنْ
جَعْفَرٍ , عَنْ
أَبِيهِ , عَنْ
جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا وَقَفَ عَلَى الصَّفَا يُكَبِّرُ ثَلَاثًا ، وَيَقُولُ : " لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ , لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ , وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ " ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ , وَيَدْعُو , وَيَصْنَعُ عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood on the hill of Safa or Marwah, he would say "Allahu Akbar" three times and then recite these words: "There is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him and all praise is for Him, and He has power over everything." In another chain of narration, it is also mentioned that after doing this three times, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate, and he would repeat the same on Marwah as well.
Hadith 15172
Among the details regarding the Hajj of the Prophet (ﷺ) narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), it is also mentioned that then the Prophet (ﷺ) descended from Safa, and when his blessed feet reached the middle of the valley, he hastened his pace (performed Sa'i), until when we ascended the other side, the Prophet (ﷺ) began to walk at his normal pace.
Hadith 15173
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that among the camels which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took for sacrifice, some were slaughtered by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his own blessed hand, and some were slaughtered by someone else.
Hadith 15174

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , أَخْبَرَنَا
سُفْيَانُ , عَنِ
الْأَعْمَشِ ،
وَمَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ
سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ , عَنْ
جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : إِنَّ لِي جَارِيَةً , وَأَنَا أَعْزِلُ عَنْهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : " مَا يُقَدَّرْ يَكُنْ " ، فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ حَمَلَتْ , فَجَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ , أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهَا حَمَلَتْ ؟ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا قَضَى اللَّهُ لِنَفْسٍ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلَّا هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "I have a slave girl who serves us and also brings water. At night, I go to her, but I do not like her to become a mother." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you wish, practice withdrawal with her, otherwise what is destined will surely happen." After some time, that same man came again and said: "That slave girl has become pregnant." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I had already told you that what is destined will surely happen."
Hadith 15175
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , أَخْبَرَنَا
سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ
أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِحَاجَةٍ , فَجِئْتُ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ , وَيُومِئُ إِيمَاءً عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ , السُّجُودُ أَخْفَضُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ , فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ , فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ , قَالَ : فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ , قَالَ : " مَا فَعَلْتَ فِي حَاجَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا ؟ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet sent me on an errand while going towards Banu Mustaliq. When I returned, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was praying facing east on his camel. I wanted to speak, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand. This happened twice. Then I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting, and he was gesturing with his head. After finishing the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What happened regarding the task I sent you for? I did not reply because I was praying.
Hadith 15176
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Keep your wealth with you, do not give it to anyone, and whoever gives something to someone for a lifetime, then it becomes his.
Hadith 15177
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , أَخْبَرَنَا
سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ
أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ
جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ , وَالرُّطَبِ وَالْبُسْرِ " يَعْنِي أَنَّ يُنْبَذَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making nabidh by mixing unripe and ripe dates, raisins and dates together.
Hadith 15178
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you performs prostration, he should maintain moderation and should not spread his arms like a dog.
Hadith 15179
(حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) قَالَ : وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ خَافَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ لَا يَسْتَيْقِظَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ , فَلْيُوتِرْ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ لِيَرْقُدْ , وَمَنْ طَمِعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَيْقِظَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ , فَلْيُوتِرْ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ , فَإِنَّ قِرَاءَةَ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ مَحْضُورَةٌ , وَذَلِكَ أَفْضَلُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among you thinks that he may not be able to wake up in the last part of the night, he should offer Witr in the first part of the night. And whoever thinks that he will be able to wake up in the last part of the night, he should offer Witr at the end of the night, because at the time of prayer in the last part of the night, the angels are present, and this is the best way.
Hadith 15180
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said while delivering a sermon: When any one of you comes while the Imam is delivering the sermon, he should still perform two rak‘ahs.
Hadith 15181
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when we came to Makkah Mukarramah with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), we performed the Tawaf of the House of Allah and Sa’i between Safa and Marwah. On the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, we did not go near Safa and Marwah again.
Hadith 15182

سُرَيْجٌ , حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ
عَمْرٍو , عَنْ
جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْأَرْضِ " ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ , فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : أَنَا رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ جَابِرٍ يَطْلُبُ أَرْضًا مُخَابَرَةً ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ انْظُرُوا إِلَى هَذَا , إِنَّ أَبَاهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْأَرْضِ , وَهُوَ يَطْلُبُ أَرْضًا يُخَابِرُ بِهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade renting out land. When someone mentioned this to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, a man present in that gathering said, "I myself have seen the son of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) taking land on sharecropping." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar said, "Look at him—his father is narrating this hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Prophet forbade renting out land, and he goes about doing this kind of thing."
Hadith 15183
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The barrier between a person and disbelief and polytheism is abandoning the prayer."
Hadith 15184
(حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) وَسَمِعْت رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا تُبَاشِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ الْمَرْأَةَ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَلَا يُبَاشِرِ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ " ، قَالَ : فَقُلْنَا لِجَابِرٍ أَكُنْتُمْ تَعُدُّونَ الذُّنُوبَ شِرْكًا ؟ ، قَالَ مَعَاذَ اللَّهِ .
And I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that a man should not touch his naked body with another man, and a woman should not touch her naked body with another woman. Abu Az-Zubair says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), "Do you people consider sins to be shirk?" He replied, "Allah's refuge (from this)."
