Hadith 14507
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to perform the Zuhr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so I would pick up a handful of pebbles in one hand and place them in the other hand, and when they became somewhat cool, I would put them on the ground and prostrate on them because of the intense heat.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Sayyiduna Abu Bakr came to the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and sought permission to enter. Since there were many people at the door, he was not granted permission. After a short while, Sayyiduna Umar also sought permission, but he too was not allowed to enter. After a little while, both of them were granted permission and they entered the house. At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was present, and the pure wives were around him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting silently. Sayyiduna Umar thought that he should say something, perhaps it would make the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smile. So he said, "O Messenger of Allah! If you see the daughter of Zayd (my wife) asking me for maintenance right now, I would press her neck." At this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed so much that his blessed teeth became visible. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "These women whom you see with me are also asking me for maintenance." Hearing this, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr stood up to hit Sayyidah Aisha, and Sayyiduna Umar moved towards Hafsa, and both of them said, "Do you ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for something which he does not possess?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped both of them, and all the pure wives said, "By Allah, after today we will not ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for anything which he does not have." After this, Allah revealed the verse of choice (Ayat al-Takhyir). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first addressed Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said, "I want to mention something before you. I do not want you to be hasty in this matter, rather consult your parents first and then give me your answer." She asked, "What is that matter?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited to her the verse of choice. Upon hearing it, Sayyidah Aisha said, "Will I consult my parents about you? I choose Allah and His Messenger." However, she requested, "Please do not mention my answer to any other wife." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Allah has not sent me as one who is harsh, but rather as one who gives knowledge and makes things easy. Therefore, if any of the wives asks me about your answer, I will surely tell her."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called that man and said, "Sell me the tree you have in so-and-so's garden." He refused. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Gift it to me." He again refused. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then sell it in exchange for a tree in Paradise." Saeed bin Harith says that once we went to Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him). He was wrapped in a single cloth and was praying, although another sheet was lying so close to him that if he wanted to stretch out his hand and pick it up, his hand could easily reach it. When he finished the prayer with salam, we asked him about this issue. He replied, "I did this so that fools like you may also see, and so that the concession which the Prophet (peace be upon him) has given may spread among the people through Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him)." Then he said, "Once I went out on a journey with the Prophet (peace be upon him). I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) at night, and he was praying in a single cloth. I also had only one cloth on my body, so I wrapped it around myself and stood by the side of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, 'Jabir, what is this way of wrapping?' When you stand for prayer and you have only one cloth and it is wide, then wrap it well around yourself, and if it is tight, then make it like a waist-wrapper (tahband)."

He said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "I have water left over from the night," and took both of them towards his tent. Upon reaching there, he poured water into a bowl and milked a goat over it, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drank, and after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the companion who had come with him drank.

Abu Sumayyah says that once there was a difference of opinion among us regarding the passage through Hell, about which it is mentioned in the Qur'an that every person will pass through Hell. Some people began to say that Muslims will not enter Hell, while others said that all will enter, but Allah Almighty will grant salvation to the righteous from Hell. In this regard, I went to meet Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) and submitted to him: There has arisen a difference among us on this issue; some people are saying that Muslims will not enter Hell, and some say that all will enter. Upon this, he pointed towards his ears with his finger and said: May these ears become deaf if I did not hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that "Wird" means entry, and there will not remain any good or bad person who will not enter Hell. However, for the believer, it will become a source of coolness and safety just as it became for Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him), until Hell will begin to cry out due to the coolness of the believers. Then Allah will grant salvation to the righteous from it and will leave the wrongdoers in it on their knees.

We have neither water to drink nor to perform ablution except for the water that is before you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand in that bowl, and water began to gush forth from between his fingers like springs. We all drank from it and performed ablution. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) separated himself from his noble wives for a month. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in an upper room and the noble wives stayed on the lower floor. After 29 nights had passed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came down. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah! You stayed for 29 nights (whereas you had intended a month). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sometimes a month is like this and like this. Twice he indicated with all the fingers of his hand, and the third time he folded his thumb.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on a military expedition during the month of Ramadan. One companion kept a fast, due to which he became extremely weak and was close to dying of thirst, and his camel began to wander into the bushes. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) learned of this, he said: "Bring him to me," and ordered him to break his fast. He said: "Is it not sufficient for you that you have set out in the path of Allah with the Messenger of Allah, and yet you still keep the fast?" So he broke his fast.

Taliq bin Habib says that I was among the most vehement deniers of intercession until one day I met Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him). I recited to him all those verses in which Allah Almighty has mentioned the eternal stay of the people of Hell in Hell. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Taliq, what do you think, do you recite the Qur'an more than me? There are those who recite the Qur'an more than me, and you yourself know the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) more than me." He said, "All the verses you have recited pertain to the polytheists. However, those people from whom sins have been committed will be taken out of Hell after punishment. May these two ears become deaf if I did not hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that they will be taken out of Hell, even though the verses you recite, we also used to recite them."
Hadith 14535
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Sayyiduna Abu Bakr As-Siddiq when he performed the Witr prayer. He replied: After the Isha prayer, in the first part of the night. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the same question to Sayyiduna Umar, and he replied: In the last part of the night. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Abu Bakr, you have preferred the aspect in which there is certainty, and Umar, you have preferred the aspect in which there is strength.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man passed away. We gave him a bath, applied perfume, dressed him in a shroud, and brought him to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for the funeral prayer. After walking a few steps, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked whether he had any debt. The people informed him that he owed two dinars. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, turned back. Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah took responsibility for his debt upon himself. We presented ourselves before the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah said: O Messenger of Allah! His debt is upon me. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The right of the debtor is now upon you, and the deceased is free from it. He replied: Yes. Upon this, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, led his funeral prayer. Then, after a day had passed, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked him about the two dinars. He replied: He only died yesterday. In any case, the next day when he presented himself before the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he said: I have paid his debt. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Now his body has cooled.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) immediately went to his noble wife, Sayyidah Zainab, who at that time was tanning a hide, and fulfilled his physical needs with her. He then said: "A woman comes in the form of Satan. Whoever among you sees a woman and she pleases him, he should go to his wife, for this will remove the thoughts that have arisen in his heart."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Sayyiduna Jibreel came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Stand up and offer the prayer. So, after the sun had declined, he offered the Zuhr prayer. Then he came again at the time of Asr and said: Stand up and offer the prayer. So, he offered the Asr prayer. Then he came at the time of Maghrib and said: Stand up and offer the prayer. So, after the disappearance of twilight, he offered the Isha prayer. Then he came again at the time of Fajr and said: Stand up and offer the prayer. So, at the time of the break of dawn, he offered the Fajr prayer. Then, the next day, he came again at the time of Zuhr and said: Stand up and offer the prayer. So, when the shadow of everything became equal to its length, he offered the Zuhr prayer. Then he came at the time of Asr and said: Stand up and offer the prayer. So, when the shadow of everything became twice its length, he offered the Asr prayer. Then he came at the time of Maghrib; its time was the same, it did not change. Then he came for the Isha prayer when half or a third of the night had passed; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the Isha prayer at that time. Then he came for the Fajr prayer when the light had spread well and said: Stand up and offer the prayer. So, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the prayer. After this, Sayyiduna Jibreel said: The time for the prayers is actually between these two times.
