It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when fragrance was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) would not refuse it.

The Prophet replied, "Now I swear that I will surely give you a ride."

By the One in Whose hand is my soul, in Paradise, the handkerchiefs of Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) are far better than this." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent that cloak to Hazrat Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him). He wore it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I did not give it to you to wear." He asked, "Then what should I do with it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Send it to your brother Najashi."

Hakeem asked him, "From whom do you remember this hadith?" He replied, "From the Prophet (peace be upon him) and from Hazrat Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them)." Then he became silent. Hakeem asked him, "Also from Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him)?" He replied, "Yes!"

At that moment, this verse was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, We have given you a clear conquest... a straight path." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Two verses have been revealed to me which are more beloved to me than the whole world." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited them. Upon hearing this, a Muslim said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Congratulations to you, for Allah has granted you this bounty. What is there for us?" Upon this, the following verse was revealed: "That He may admit the believing men and believing women to gardens... a great success."

So that man said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I spoke. I was coming quickly and when I reached near the row, I said this sentence." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I saw twelve angels rushing towards it to see who would raise this sentence first." Then he said, "When any of you comes for prayer, he should walk calmly. Whatever part of the prayer he catches, he should perform, and whatever he misses, he should complete (afterwards)."

And the Prophet (peace be upon him) would respond with this phrase: "O Allah! The real goodness is the goodness of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajireen." Then barley bread was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him) on which melted fat was placed. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) ate from it, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The real goodness is the goodness of the Hereafter."

One day, in the same manner, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) listened attentively and heard a man saying "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He is upon the sound nature." Then when the man said "Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You have been saved from the fire of Hell."

Is it not so that when I came to you, you were enemies of one another, and Allah created affection in your hearts through me?" They replied, "Indeed, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then said, "Do you not also say that you received me when I came to you in a state of fear, and you gave me security; my people expelled me, and you gave me shelter; I was helpless, and you helped me?" They replied, "No, rather Allah and His Messenger have favored us."

I am not like you; my Lord gives me food and drink."
