Hadith 11980
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you makes supplication, he should do so with certainty and firmness, and he should not say: O Allah! If You wish, grant this to me, because there is no one who can compel Allah Almighty.

Hadith 11981
Once Qatadah asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "Which supplication did the Prophet (peace be upon him) most frequently make?" He replied that the Prophet (peace be upon him) would often supplicate: "O Allah! O our Lord! Grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of Hell." Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) himself would also make this same supplication.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) used to lead his people in prayer. On one occasion, he was leading the prayer when Hazrat Haram (may Allah be pleased with him), who was going to water his garden, entered the mosque to pray. When he saw that Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was making the prayer long, he shortened his own prayer and went to water his garden. When Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) completed the prayer, someone informed him that Hazrat Haram (may Allah be pleased with him) had come to the mosque.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for the Battle of Khaybar. We offered the Fajr prayer in Khaybar while it was still dark. After the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted his ride and Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) mounted his ride, and I sat behind Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to move through the streets of Khaybar. Sometimes my knee would touch the blessed thigh of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and sometimes the lower garment of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would slip a little from his blessed thigh, and I could see the whiteness of his body. In short, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the city, he said "Allahu Akbar" and proclaimed, "Khaybar is destroyed! When we descend into the courtyard of a people, the morning of those who have been warned is the worst." He repeated these words three times. At that time, the people had gone out to work. They began to say, "Muhammad and his army have come." Then we conquered Khaybar by the sword and began to gather the captives. Meanwhile, Hazrat Dihya (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said, "O Prophet of Allah! Grant me a slave woman from among the captives." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go and take a slave woman." So he took Hazrat Safiyyah bint Huyayy. Seeing this, a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You have given the chief lady of Banu Qurayza and Banu Nadir, Safiyyah, to Dihya. By Allah! She is only suitable for you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Call Dihya with Safiyyah." So they brought them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at Hazrat Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) and said to Hazrat Dihya (may Allah be pleased with him), "Take another slave woman from among the captives." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set her free and married her. The narrator asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "O Abu Hamza! How much did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) give her as mahr (dowry)?" He replied, "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set her free and made her freedom her mahr, and married her." On the way, Hazrat Umm Sulaim (may Allah be pleased with her) prepared Hazrat Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) as a bride and presented her to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at night. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spent the morning as a groom. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever has anything, let him bring it to us," and a dining cloth was spread. Someone brought cheese, someone brought dates, and someone brought ghee. The people made halwa from it. This was the wedding feast (walima) of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting, a state of drowsiness overtook him. Then he raised his head smiling. The people asked the reason for his smile, so he said that just now a surah has been revealed to me. Then he recited the whole Surah Al-Kawthar after saying "Bismillah" and said, "Do you know what Al-Kawthar is?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "It is a river in Paradise which my Lord has promised me. There will be abundant goodness on it, and on the Day of Resurrection my followers will come to it, and the vessels of this river will be as numerous as the stars. One of the people will be pulled away from it, and I will say, 'O Lord! He is one of my followers.' I will be told, 'You do not know what innovations they introduced after you.'"

I am your Imam, so do not go ahead of me in bowing, prostration, standing, sitting, or ending the prayer, because I see you from in front of me as well as from behind me. And by the One in Whose hand is my soul, if you had seen what I have seen, you would laugh little and weep much. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What have you seen? He replied: I have seen Paradise and Hell with my own eyes.

Shortly after, he asked a maid to bring water for ablution. We asked him, "Which prayer are you performing at this time?" He replied, "The Asr prayer." We said, "We have just come after performing Zuhr (is Asr prayer so early?)" He said, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: That is the prayer of the hypocrite, that the hypocrite delays the prayer until, when the sun is between the two horns of Satan, he stands to pray and remembers Allah very little in it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to be very happy when a Bedouin would come and ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a question. So once a Bedouin came and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) be established?" At that time, the Iqamah had been pronounced, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to lead the prayer. After finishing the prayer, he said, "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?" He said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I am here." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What preparation have you made for the Hour?" He said, "I have not prepared many good deeds, prayers, or fasts, but I do have this much: I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "A person will be with the one whom he loves on the Day of Judgment." Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says, "I have never seen the Muslims as happy as they were on that day after accepting Islam."

On the way, there was a child lying on the ground. When his mother saw the people, she feared that the child might be trampled under their feet, so she ran, crying out, "My son, my son," and picked him up. The people said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! This woman can never throw her son into the fire." Humaid says that a person asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to raise his hands in supplication. He replied that once, on a Friday, people said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The rain has stopped, the land has become dry, and wealth is being destroyed." Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands so high that I could see the whiteness of his blessed armpits, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for rain. At the time when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed hands, there was no cloud visible in the sky, and when he finished supplicating, the young men living in nearby houses had difficulty returning to their homes. When the next Friday came, people said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The buildings of the houses have collapsed, and the riders have been forced to stop outside Madinah." Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled at the impatience of the son of Adam and prayed to Allah, "O Allah! Let this rain fall around us, not upon us." Thus, the rain moved away from Madinah.
