It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hell will continuously say, "Is there any more? Bring more," until the Lord of the worlds will place His foot in it. At that time, its parts will draw together and contract with each other, and it will say, "By Your honor! Enough, enough." In the same way, there will remain extra space in Paradise, until Allah creates another creation and settles them in the remaining part of Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In Paradise, there is a tree under whose shade, if a rider travels for a hundred years, he would still not be able to cross its shade.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Jew, while passing by the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), greeted them by saying "As-saam alaikum" (death be upon you). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Do you know what he said?" They replied, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! He greeted (gave salaam)." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "No, he said this." He then said, "Bring him to me," and asked him, "Did you say 'As-saam alaikum'?" When he admitted it, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "When any 'People of the Book' greet you, just reply with 'Wa alaik' (and upon you)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) took suhoor together. After finishing suhoor, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for prayer and led the prayer. We began to ask Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) how much time there was between finishing suhoor and standing for prayer. He replied: As long as it takes for a man to recite fifty verses.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not observe continuous fasting for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You do it this way?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: I am not like you in this matter; my Lord gives me food and drink.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there were seventy young men from the Ansar who were called the Qurra (reciters). They used to stay in the mosque, and when evening came, they would go to some corner of Madinah, study lessons, and offer prayers. Their families thought they were in the mosque, and the people of the mosque thought they were at home. In the morning, they would bring sweet water and cut wood, and hang it near the chamber of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent all of them, and they were martyred at the incident of Bi’r Ma‘unah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to invoke curses upon their killers in the Fajr prayer for fifteen days.

Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on him, says that whenever Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated a hadith from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he would conclude by saying, "Or as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that all the prayers of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were almost equal in length, and similarly, the prayers of Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) were also so, but Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) started lengthening the Fajr prayer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was going somewhere with some of his companions (may Allah be pleased with them). On the way, there was a child lying on the ground. When his mother saw the people, she feared that the child might be trampled under their feet, so she ran, crying out, "My son, my son," and picked him up. The people said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This woman could never throw her son into the fire." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) silenced them and said, "Allah will also never throw His friend into the fire."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man walking while taking support on the shoulders of his two sons. He asked, "What is the matter with him?" They informed him that he had vowed to perform Hajj on foot. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Allah is free from need of this man putting himself in hardship." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to ride, so he rode.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was playing with children, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and greeted us, then he took my hand and sent me for some task, and he himself sat in the shade of a wall until I returned and delivered the message with which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent me. When I reached home, Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) (my mother) asked, "Why did you take so long?" I told her that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent me for some task. She asked, "What was the task?" I said, "It is a secret." She said, "Then protect the secret of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Thus, after that, I never disclosed it to anyone.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, he found that there were two days in which the people used to celebrate festivals since the days of ignorance. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah has given you better days than these in exchange—Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for an animal to ride. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was occupied with some work at that time, so he said, "By Allah! I will not give you any ride." But when he turned to leave, he was called back and a ride was granted to him. He said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You had sworn that you would not give me a ride?" The Prophet replied, "Now I swear that I will surely give you a ride."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, cowardice, miserliness, the trial of Dajjal, and the punishment of the grave.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that someone asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) about the night prayer and voluntary fasts of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He replied that whenever we wished to see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praying at night, we could see him, and whenever we intended to see him sleeping, we could also see that. Similarly, in some months, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would fast so continuously that we would think he would not leave any fast, and at other times he would leave fasting to the extent that we would say perhaps now the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will not fast anymore.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The month of Ramadan has come; in this blessed month the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about "Kawthar." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that it is the name of a river which my Lord has granted me. Its soil is musk, its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and in it there will be birds with necks like camels. Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Then those birds will be very healthy." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Those who eat them will be even healthier than them."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If the son of Adam had two valleys full of gold, he would desire a third one, and nothing fills the mouth of the son of Adam except the dust of the grave. And whoever repents, Allah accepts his repentance.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Badr, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Who will go and see what has become of Abu Jahl?" Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) went for this service. He saw that the two sons of Afraa had beaten him until he was lifeless. Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) caught Abu Jahl by his beard and said, "Are you Abu Jahl? Are you the misguided old man?" He replied, "Have you ever killed a man greater than me?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the command of veiling (purdah) was revealed, I know the circumstances of that time better than anyone else. That night, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in seclusion with Hazrat Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her), and in the morning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was a bridegroom. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) invited the people, they came, ate food, and left, but some people remained sitting there and continued to sit for quite a while, until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself got up and went outside. I also went outside so that they might leave as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and I, while walking, stopped at the threshold of Hazrat Aisha’s (may Allah be pleased with her) chamber. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) thought that perhaps those people had now left, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, and I was with him, but those people were still sitting there. The same thing happened again, but this time those people had actually left. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered inside and hung a curtain, and Allah revealed the verse of hijab.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah Almighty continuously sent down revelation upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) before his passing, until he passed away, and the most revelation was sent down on the day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about "Kawthar." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that it is the name of a river which my Lord has granted me. Its water will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and there will be birds in it with necks like those of camels. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Then those birds will be very healthy." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Umar! Those who eat them will be even healthier than them."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to attack a people, he would not attack at night but would wait until morning. If he heard the sound of the call to prayer (adhan) from there, he would refrain; otherwise, he would attack.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was no one who performed the Asr prayer more quickly than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Among the Ansar, there were two men whose houses were the farthest from the Prophet’s Mosque. One was Hazrat Abu Lubabah bin Abdul Mundhir (may Allah be pleased with him), who belonged to Banu Amr bin Auf, and the other was Hazrat Abu Abas bin Jabr (may Allah be pleased with him), who belonged to Banu Harithah. Hazrat Abu Lubabah’s (may Allah be pleased with him) house was in Quba, and Hazrat Abu Abas’s (may Allah be pleased with him) house was in Banu Harithah. Both of them would perform the Asr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and when they returned to their people, they had not yet performed the Asr prayer, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform it quickly.

(Marfu‘ hadith) Ya‘qub narrated to us, my father informed us, from Ibn Ishaq, he narrated to me from Ziyad ibn Abi Ziyad, the freed slave of Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: I returned from the Dhuhr prayer with ‘Umar after Hisham ibn Isma‘il had led the people in prayer, as he was the governor of Madinah, to ‘Amr ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah to visit him due to an illness he had. We had not sat down nor asked about him except while standing. He said: Then we left and entered upon Anas ibn Malik in his house, which was next to the house of Abu Talhah. He said: When we sat down, the servant girl came to him and said: The prayer, O Abu Hamzah! He said: We said: Which prayer, may Allah have mercy on you? He said: ‘Asr. He said: So we said: We have just prayed Dhuhr now! He said: He replied: You have delayed the prayer until you forgot it, or he said: You forgot it until you delayed it. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: “I and the Hour have been sent like these two,” and he joined his index and middle fingers.

Ziyad bin Abi Ziyad (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once, after Umar and I had finished offering the Zuhr prayer—which was led by Hisham bin Isma'il, as he was the governor of Madinah at that time—we went to inquire about the health of Amr bin Abdullah. We did not sit there; we only asked about his condition while standing. Then we went to visit Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), whose house was next to the house of Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him). As soon as we sat down there, a slave girl came to him and said, "O Abu Hamzah! The time for prayer has come." We asked, "May Allah's mercy be upon you, which prayer?" He replied, "The Asr prayer." We said, "We have just offered the Zuhr prayer." He said, "You have neglected the prayer to the extent that you have forgotten it. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'I and the Hour have been sent like these two fingers together.'" Saying this, he pointed with his index and middle fingers and extended them. Hadith number (13509) is also narrated through this second chain.

Ibrahim narrated to us, Abu Uways narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Muslim, the nephew of Az-Zuhri, from his father, from Anas ibn Malik, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding Al-Kawthar, similar to the hadith of Az-Zuhri exactly.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade visiting graveyards, eating the meat of sacrifice after three days, and drinking nabidh from dubba, naqir, hantam, and muzaffat vessels. Then, after some time had passed, he said: I had previously forbidden you from three things, but now my opinion about them has become clear. I had forbidden you from visiting graveyards, but now my opinion is that it softens the hearts, brings tears to the eyes, and reminds one of the Hereafter, so visit the graveyards, but do not speak indecently. Similarly, I had forbidden you from eating the meat of sacrifice after three days, but now my opinion is that people give this meat as gifts to their guests and keep it stored for those who are absent, so you may keep it for as long as you wish. Also, I had forbidden you from drinking nabidh in those vessels, but now you may drink from whichever vessel you wish, but do not drink anything intoxicating. Now, whoever wishes may seal the mouth of his waterskin against something sinful.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Zuhr prayer with four rak'ahs in Masjid Nabawi, and when he reached Dhul-Hulaifah, he led the Asr prayer with two rak'ahs. At that time, there was peace and security on all sides; during the Farewell Pilgrimage, there was no kind of fear at all.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to perform the Friday prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and after that we would reach our resting place and take a midday nap.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the time for prayer approached, and at that time there was some bitterness between the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the pure wives, and the pure wives were defending each other. Meanwhile, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Put dust in their mouths and come outside for prayer."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the night meal is brought before you and the prayer is established, then eat the food first.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ukaydir of Duma sent a silk garment as a gift to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). People began to marvel at its beauty. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the handkerchiefs of Sa'd, which have been given to him in Paradise, are better and more excellent than this."

Akhshan Sudosi, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I was present in the service of Hazrat Anas, may Allah be pleased with him. He said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if you commit so many sins that the entire space between the earth and the sky is filled with your sins, then you seek forgiveness from Allah, He will still forgive you. By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, if you do not commit sins, Allah will bring a people who will commit sins, then seek forgiveness from Allah, and Allah will forgive them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the verse of Hijab was revealed, even then, as usual, I once started to enter the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Son! Stay back (enter after seeking permission)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the Dajjal comes, he will set up his tent on one side of Madinah. At that time, three earthquakes will occur in Madinah, and every disbeliever and hypocrite, man and woman, will leave Madinah and join the Dajjal.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: At the Pond of Kawthar, there will be more gold and silver goblets than the stars in the sky.
