It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, cowardice, miserliness, the trial of Dajjal, and the punishment of the grave.

My mother used to encourage me to serve the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to our house. We milked a pet goat and mixed its milk with water drawn from the well of the house, and presented it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). On the right side of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was a Bedouin, and on the left side was Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had drunk from it, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) requested that it be given to Abu Bakr, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the vessel of milk to the Bedouin and said, "First to the one on the right, then to the next."

Hazrat Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) had made a leather bed for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he would rest on it. Afterwards, she would collect his sweat. Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Umm Sulaym! What are you doing?" She replied, "O Messenger of Allah! We will mix your sweat into our perfume." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for her.

And in another narration, my companion angel said, "Do you know what this is? This is Kawthar which your Lord has granted to you." Then he struck his hand on its ground and showed me musk coming out from its soil.

I reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and he was sitting among the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). I said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) has sent me to invite you for food. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Me and my companions as well?" Saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out with his companions. I quickly reached home and said to Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has brought his companions as well. Hearing this, Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You have put us to shame." I said, "I could not refuse the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached their house, he said, "Sit down." Then ten people entered and ate to their fill, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was with them. Then, in groups of ten, all the people ate that food and everyone ate to their fill. The narrator says that I asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) how many people were there? He replied that they were a little over eighty, and enough was left for the household that they too could eat to their fill.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people from the tribes of ‘Ukl and ‘Uraynah became Muslim, but the climate of Madinah did not suit them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them, “If you go to our camels and drink their milk, perhaps you will recover.” So they did so, but when they became healthy, they reverted to disbelief and apostasy. They killed the Muslim shepherd of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and drove away the Prophet’s camels. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent some companions after them, and they were captured and brought before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides, their eyes be branded with hot irons, and they were left in the rocky area until they died.

Then a door to Hell is opened for him and it is said to him: "If you had disbelieved in your Lord, this would have been your abode. But since you believed in Him, your abode is another place." Thus, he sees both places.

If he is a believer, he says: "I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the servant of Allah and His Messenger." Then a door to Hell is opened for him and it is said to him: "If you had disbelieved in your Lord, this would have been your abode. But since you believed in Him, your abode is elsewhere." Then a door to Paradise is opened for him, his grave is expanded seventy cubits, and greenery is poured upon him. And if he is a disbeliever or a hypocrite, when the angel asks him: "What do you know about this man?" he replies: "I do not know anything, I only heard people saying something." The angel says to him: "You neither knew nor recited nor were guided." Then the angel strikes him with such a blow from his mace that all of Allah's creation except jinn and mankind hear its sound. Some narrators also say that his grave is made so narrow that his ribs interlock with each other.
