Hadith 12540
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : كَانَتْ الْحَبَشَةُ يَزْفِنُونَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيَرْقُصُونَ ، وَيَقُولُونَ : مُحَمَّدٌ عَبْدٌ صَالِحٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا يَقُولُونَ ؟ " قَالُوا : يَقُولُونَ مُحَمَّدٌ عَبْدٌ صَالِحٌ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that some Abyssinians were dancing in front of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, singing that Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is a good man. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked, "What are these people saying?" The people informed him that they are saying, "Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is a good man."
Hadith 12541
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَدْخُلُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ ، فَيَبْقَى مِنْهَا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، فَيُنْشِئُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى لَهَا يَعْنِي خَلْقًا حَتَّى يَمْلَأَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise, there will still be some space left in Paradise. Allah will create another creation for it and fill Paradise with them.
Hadith 12542
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُعْطِيتُ الْكَوْثَرَ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ نَهَرٌ يَجْرِي كَذَا عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ ، حَافَّتَاهُ قِبَابُ اللُّؤْلُؤِ لَيْسَ مَشْفُوفًا ، فَضَرَبْتُ بِيَدِي إِلَى تُرْبَتِهِ ، فَإِذَا مِسْكَةٌ ذَفِرَةٌ وَإِذَا حَصَاهُ اللُّؤْلُؤُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I have been granted Al-Kawthar, it is a river that flows on the surface of the earth, on both its banks are tents of pearls which have not been broken. I touched its soil and found it to be pure musk, and its pebbles were pearls.
Hadith 12543
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ يَعُودُهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا خَالُ ، قُلْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ " ، فَقَالَ : أَوَخَالٌ أَنَا ، أَوْ عَمٌّ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا ، بَلْ خَالٌ " فَقَالَ لَهُ : " قَوْلُ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ " ، قال : خَيْرٌ لِي ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit a man from Banu Najjar who was ill, and said to him, "Uncle! Affirm that there is no god but Allah." He said, "Uncle or paternal uncle?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No, uncle! Say there is no god but Allah." He asked, "Is this better for me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes."
Hadith 12544
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصْوَاتًا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا هَذَا ؟ " قَالُوا : يُلَقِّحُونَ النَّخْلَ ، فَقَالَ : " لَوْ تَرَكُوهُ فَلَمْ يُلَقِّحُوهُ ، لَصَلُحَ " فَتَرَكُوهُ ، فَلَمْ يُلَقِّحُوهُ ، فَخَرَجَ شِيصًا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا لَكُمْ ؟ " قَالُوا : تَرَكُوهُ لِمَا قُلْتَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ شَيْءٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَاكُمْ ، فَأَنْتُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ ، فَإِذَا كَانَ مِنْ أَمْرِ دِينِكُمْ ، فَإِلَيَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some sounds reached the ears of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What are these sounds?" People informed him that date palms were being grafted. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If these people do not graft, perhaps it will be better for them." Consequently, the people did not graft that year, due to which the date crop was not good that year. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inquired about the reason, the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted that, upon your instruction, the people did not graft. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If it is a worldly matter, you know it better than I do, and if it is a matter of religion, then bring it to me."
Hadith 12545
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " آخَى بَيْنَ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ ، وَبَيْنَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established the bond of brotherhood between Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 12546
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كَثِيرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَتْ تُعْجِبُهُ الْفَاغِيَةُ ، وَكَانَ أَعْجَبُ الطَّعَامِ إِلَيْهِ الدُّبَّاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was very fond of the bud of henna, and among foods, the most beloved food to him was gourd.
Hadith 12547
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَيَقْرَأُ سُورَةً خَفِيفَةً مِنْ أَجْلِ الْمَرْأَةِ وَبُكَاءِ الصَّبِيِّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes be in prayer, but due to the crying of a child, he would shorten the prayer for the sake of the child's mother.
Hadith 12548
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مَالِكَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَعَلَيْهِ بُرْدٌ نَجْرَانِيٌّ غَلِيظُ الْحَاشِيَةِ ، فَأَدْرَكَهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ ، فَجَبَذَهُ جَبْذَةً ، حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ صَفْحَ أَوْ صَفْحَةَ عُنُقِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَثَّرَتْ بِهَا حَاشِيَةُ الْبُرْدِ مِنْ شِدَّةِ جَبْذَتِهِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، أَعْطِنِي مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي عِنْدَكَ ، فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ فَضَحِكَ ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ لَهُ بِعَطَاءٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was walking with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he had draped over himself a Najrani cloak with thick borders. On the way, a Bedouin met us and he pulled the cloak of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so hard that its marks appeared on the blessed neck of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said, "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Give me also from the wealth of Allah that you have." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards him and only smiled, then ordered that something be given to him.
Hadith 12549
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أيُّوبَ الْغَافِقِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَسَدِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اتَّقُوا دَعْوَةَ الْمَظْلُومِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ كَافِرًا ، فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ دُونَهَا حِجَابٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, even if he is a disbeliever, for there is nothing that stands between his supplication and Allah.
Hadith 12550
(حديث موقوف) (حديث مرفوع) وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعْ مَا يَرِيبُكَ إِلَى مَا لَا يَرِيبُكَ " .
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt.
Hadith 12551
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، يَا سَيِّدَنَا وَابْنَ سَيِّدِنَا ، وَخَيْرَنَا وَابْنَ خَيْرِنَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، عَلَيْكُمْ بِتَقْوَاكُمْ ، وَلَا يَسْتَهْوِيَنَّكُمْ الشَّيْطَانُ ، أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ ، وَاللَّهِ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَرْفَعُونِي فَوْقَ مَنْزِلَتِي الَّتِي أَنْزَلَنِي اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man addressed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! O our chief, son of our chief! O our best, son of our best!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O people! Make piety obligatory upon yourselves, lest Satan attack you. I am only Muhammad bin Abdullah, Allah's servant and His messenger. By Allah! I do not like that you exaggerate my status beyond what it is with Allah."
Hadith 12552
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ ، قَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا ، وَسَقَانَا ، وَكَفَانَا ، وَآوَانَا ، وَكَمْ مِمَّنْ لَا كَافِيَ لَهُ وَلَا مُؤْوِيَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would come to his bed, he would say: "All praise is due to Allah who has fed us, given us drink, sufficed us, and provided us with shelter. How many are there who have no one to suffice them or provide them with shelter."
Hadith 12553
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، وَحُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ شَهْبَاءَ ، فَمَرَّ عَلَى حَائِطٍ لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ بِقَبْرٍ يُعَذَّبُ صَاحِبُهُ ، فَحَامَتْ الْبَغْلَةُ ، فَقَالَ : " لَوْلَا أَنْ لَا تَدَافَنُوا ، لَدَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding his white mule and passed by a garden of Banu Najjar in Madinah Munawwarah. There, punishment was being inflicted in a grave, so the mule shied. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you people would not stop burying your dead, I would pray to Allah that He would let you hear the sound of the punishment of the grave."
Hadith 12554
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " اسْتَسْقَى ، فَأَشَارَ بِظَهْرِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for rain, he turned the upper part of his palms towards the sky.
Hadith 12555
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " جَاهِدُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ ، وَأَنْفُسِكُمْ ، وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ ، وَأَيْدِيكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Strive against the polytheists with your life, wealth, tongue, and hand.
Hadith 12556
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ ، خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَلَقَابُ قَوْسِ أَحَدِكُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To strive in the way of Allah for a morning or an evening is better than the world and whatever is in it, and the space of a bow in Paradise is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 12557
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ نَفْسٍ تَمُوتُ لَهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ ، فَيَسُرُّهَا أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا ، إِلَّا الشَّهِيدَ ، فَإِنَّ الشَّهِيدَ يَسُرُّهُ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا ، فَيُقْتَلَ ، لِمَا يَرَى مِنْ فَضْلِ الشَّهَادَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No person who enters Paradise will ever wish to leave Paradise, except the martyr, who will wish to return to the world and be martyred again in the way of Allah, because he will see the excellence of martyrdom.
Hadith 12558
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " الْبَيْتُ الْمَعْمُورُ فِي السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ ، يَدْخُلُهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ ، ثُمَّ لَا يَعُودُونَ إِلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Al-Bait al-Ma'mur is on the seventh heaven, into which seventy thousand angels enter daily, and their turn does not come again.
Hadith 12559
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " حُفَّتْ الْجَنَّةُ بِالْمَكَارِهِ ، وَحُفَّتْ النَّارُ بِالشَّهَوَاتِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Paradise has been surrounded by hardships and Hell has been surrounded by desires.

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُكْسَى حُلَّةً مِنَ النَّارِ إِبْلِيسُ ، يَضَعُهَا عَلَى حَاجِبَيْهِ ، وَهُوَ يَسْحَبُهَا مِنْ خَلْفِهِ ، وَذُرِّيَّتُهُ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : يَا ثُبُورَاهُ وَهُمْ يُنَادُونَ يَا ثُبُورَاهُمْ حَتَّى يَقِفَ عَلَى النَّارِ ، فَيَقُولُ : يَا ثُبُورَاهُ ، فَيُنَادُونَ يَا ثُبُورَاهُمْ " ، فَيُقَالَ : لا تَدْعُوا الْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَاحِدًا وَادْعُوا ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا سورة الفرقان آية 14 .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first to be clothed with the garments of Hell will be Iblis, and he will place them on his eyebrows. Behind him, his progeny will be dragged, and Satan will be crying out, "Woe and destruction!" and his progeny will also be saying, "Woe and destruction!" Saying this, they will reach the edge of Hell and stop there. Then Satan will again say, "Woe and destruction!" and his progeny will also say the same. At that moment, it will be said to them, "Do not call for one destruction today, but call for many destructions."
Hadith 12561
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، وَيُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، وَحُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " الْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ أَمِنَهُ النَّاسُ ، وَالْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ ، وَالْمُهَاجِرُ مَنْ هَجَرَ السُّوءَ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ عَبْدٌ لَا يَأْمَنُ جَارُهُ بَوَائِقَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A believer is one from whom people are safe; a Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims remain safe; an emigrant is one who migrates from sins; and by Him in Whose hand is my soul, no person will enter Paradise until his neighbor is safe from his harm.
Hadith 12562
حَدَّثَنَاه عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، وَيُونُسَ ، وَحُمَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ أَمِنَهُ النَّاسُ " ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 12563
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ بن موسى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَادَ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا خَالُ ، قُلْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ " فَقَالَ : أَخَالٌ أَمْ عَمٌّ ؟ فَقَالَ " لَا بَلْ خَالٌ " قَالَ : فَخَيْرٌ لِي أَنْ أَقُولَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit a man from Banu Najjar who was ill, and said to him, "Uncle! Affirm that there is no god but Allah." He said, "Uncle or paternal uncle?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No, uncle! Say there is no god but Allah." He asked, "Is this better for me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes."
Hadith 12564
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا طِيَرَةَ ، وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ " قَالُوا : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، مَا الْفَأْلُ ؟ قَالَ : " الْكَلِمَةُ الْحَسَنَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is no reality in bad omens, however, I like optimism, that is, a good and pure word.
Hadith 12565
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : سَأَلْنَاهُ عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ، فَقَالَ : أَمَّا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فكَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ، وَأَمَّا نَحْنُ فَكُنَّا نُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ بِطُهُورٍ وَاحِدٍ " .
Amr bin Aamir asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) about performing ablution for every prayer, so he replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform a fresh ablution for every prayer, and we used to offer several prayers with a single ablution until we became without ablution.
Hadith 12566
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُكَيْنٌ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرَ ذَاكَ أَبِي ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَمْ يَلْقَ ابْنُ آدَمَ شَيْئًا قَطُّ مُذْ خَلَقَهُ اللَّهُ أَشَدَّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ الْمَوْتَ لَأَهْوَنُ مِمَّا بَعْدَهُ " .
Since Allah created the son of Adam, he has not seen anything more severe than death, but after that, this very death will become extremely easy for him.
Hadith 12567
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : قَلَّمَا خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا قَالَ : " لَا إِيمَانَ لِمَنْ لَا أَمَانَةَ لَهُ ، وَلَا دِينَ لِمَنْ لَا عَهْدَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rarely gave us any sermon in which he did not say: "He has no faith who is not trustworthy, and he has no religion who does not keep his promises."
Hadith 12568
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنِ الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ فُلْفُلٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسًا عَنْ ظُرُوفِ النَّبِيذِ ، فَقَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَمَّا زُفِّتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ، قَالَ : وَقَالَ لِي نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هُوَ الْمُقَيَّرُ " .
Mukhtar bin Qalfal, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I asked Hazrat Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, what is the ruling about drinking from vessels? He replied that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade (drinking from) "muzaffat." I asked, what is meant by "muzaffat"? He said, a vessel coated with pitch.
Hadith 12569
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنِ الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ فُلْفُلٍ ، أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي لَكُمْ إِمَامٌ ، فَلَا تَسْبِقُونِي بِالرُّكُوعِ ، وَلَا بِالسُّجُودِ ، وَلَا بِالْقِيَامِ ، فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ أَمَامِي وَمِنْ خَلْفِي ، وَايْمُ الَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، لَوْ رَأَيْتُمْ مَا رَأَيْتُ ، لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا وَلَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ، مَا رَأَيْتَ ؟ قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am your Imam, so do not go ahead of me in bowing, prostration, or standing, because I see you from in front of me as well as from behind me. And by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), if you had seen what I have seen, you would laugh little and weep much. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what have you seen? He replied: I have seen Paradise and Hell with my own eyes.
Hadith 12570
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَخَفَّفَ بِهِمْ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فَأَطَالَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَخَفَّفَ بِهِمْ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فَأَطَالَ ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا قُلْنَا : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، جَلَسْنَا اللَّيْلَةَ فَخَرَجْتَ إِلَيْنَا فَخَفَّفْتَ ثُمَّ دَخَلْتَ فَأَطَلْتَ ! قَالَ : " مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ فَعَلْتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once in the month of Ramadan, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and led a short prayer and then left. After quite some time, he came again and led a short prayer and then went back again and stayed inside for a long time. When morning came, we said, "O Messenger of Allah! We were sitting here tonight, you came and led a short prayer and then went home for a long time?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It was because of you that I did so."
Hadith 12571
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : كَانَتْ شَجَرَةٌ فِي طَرِيقِ النَّاسِ تُؤْذِي النَّاسَ ، فَأَتَاهَا رَجُلٌ فَعَزَلَهَا عَنْ طَرِيقِ النَّاسِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ يَتَقَلَّبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a tree which caused harm to those passing by on the road. A man came and removed it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw him walking under the shade of the trees in Paradise.
Hadith 12572
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أخبرنا جَعْفَرٌ يَعْنِي الْأَحْمَرَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَاصُّوا الصُّفُوفَ ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ تَقُومُ فِي الْخَلَلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fill the rows, for the devils enter into the gaps in between."
Hadith 12573
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَلْمٍ الْعَلَوِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ : دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ وَعَلَيْهِ صُفْرَةٌ فَكَرِهَهَا ، فَلَمَّا قَامَ الرَّجُلُ ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِبَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ " لَوْ أَمَرْتُمْ هَذَا أَنْ يَدَعَ هَذِهِ الصُّفْرَةَ " ، قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَلَّمَا يُوَاجِهُ الرَّجُلاَ بِشَيْءٍ يَكْرَهُهُ فِي وَجْهِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he saw yellow color applied on him, so he expressed displeasure at it. When the man left, the Prophet said to one of the companions, "If you had ordered that person to wash off that color, how good it would have been!" And it was the blessed habit of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he would not come before anyone with such a face that would express displeasure.
Hadith 12574
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَائِلٌ ، فَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِتَمْرَةٍ فَلَمْ يَأْخُذْهَا ، أَوْ وَحَّشَ بِهَا ، قَالَ : وَأَتَاهُ آخَرُ ، فَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِتَمْرَةٍ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، تَمْرَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ لِلْجَارِيَةِ : " اذْهَبِي إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، فَأَعْطِيهِ الْأَرْبَعِينَ دِرْهَمًا الَّتِي عِنْدَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a beggar came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that dates be given to him, but he did not touch them. Another came, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that dates be given to him; he happily accepted them and said, "Subhan Allah! Dates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his maidservant, "Go to Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and have her give him the forty thousand dirhams kept with her."
Hadith 12575
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْفَرْزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ : رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَلَا إِنَّ الْمُزَّاتِ حَرَامٌ " ، وَالْمُزَّاتُ خَلْطُ التَّمْرِ وَالْبُسْرِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Beware! Mazat (that is, nabidh made by mixing unripe and ripe dates) is forbidden.
Hadith 12576
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عِنْدَ أَنَسٍ قَدَحًا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِ ضَبَّةُ فِضَّةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A believer is one from whom people are safe; a Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims remain safe; an emigrant is one who migrates from sins; and by Him in Whose hand is my soul, no person will enter Paradise until his neighbor is safe from his harm.

Hadith 12578
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَسْرٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " طُوبَى لِمَنْ آمَنَ بِي وَرَآنِي مَرَّةً ، وَطُوبَى لِمَنْ آمَنَ بِي وَلَمْ يَرَنِي سَبْعَ مِرَارٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Glad tidings (Tuba) once for those who saw me and believed in me, and seven times glad tidings (Tuba) for those who will believe in me without having seen me.
Hadith 12579
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَسْرٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَقِيتُ إِخْوَانِي " قَالَ : فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَوَلَيْسَ نَحْنُ إِخْوَانَكَ ؟ قَالَ : أَنْتُمْ أَصْحَابِي ، وَلَكِنْ إِخْوَانِي الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِي وَلَمْ يَرَوْنِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I wish I could meet my brothers. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Are we not your brothers? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You are my companions; my brothers are those who will believe in me but will not have seen me.
