Hadith 12500
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ .
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, Ubaydullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Anas narrated to us, from Anas, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, something similar to it.
Hadith 12501
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَا فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ عِشْرُونَ شَعَرَةً بَيْضَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that at the time of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) passing, there were not even twenty white hairs in his blessed beard.
Hadith 12502
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسودُ بن عامر ، وَحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الصَّيْقَلِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا نَصْرُخُ بِالْحَجِّ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ ، أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً ، وقَالَ : " لَوْ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ ، لَجَعَلْتُهَا عُمْرَةً ، وَلَكِنْ سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ ، وَقَرَنْتُ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that we set out reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj. After reaching Makkah Mukarramah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us to convert it into Umrah and to come out of Ihram, and said: "If the matter that has come before me now had come earlier, I too would have made it Umrah, but I have brought the sacrificial animal with me and have recited the Talbiyah for both Hajj and Umrah."
Hadith 12503
(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا ابْتَلَى اللَّهُ الْعَبْدَ الْمُسْلِمَ بِبَلَاءٍ فِي جَسَدِهِ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ : اكْتُبْ لَهُ صَالِحَ عَمَلِهِ الَّذِي كَانَ يَعْمَلُهُ ، فَإِنْ شَفَاهُ ، غَسَلَهُ وَطَهَّرَهُ ، وَإِنْ قَبَضَهُ ، غَفَرَ لَهُ وَرَحِمَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty afflicts a Muslim servant with a physical illness, He commands the angels to continue recording the reward of all the good deeds that he used to do. Then, if He grants him recovery, Allah has cleansed and purified him, and if He calls him back to Himself, He forgives him and has mercy on him.
Hadith 12504
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ ، وَثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَتَيْتُ عَلَى مُوسَى لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِي عِنْدَ الْكَثِيبِ الْأَحْمَرِ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فِي قَبْرِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the night of Mi'raj, I passed by Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) near the red mound and saw that he was standing in his grave performing prayer.
Hadith 12505
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أُتِيتُ بِالْبُرَاقِ ، وَهُوَ دَابَّةٌ أَبْيَضُ فَوْقَ الْحِمَارِ وَدُونَ الْبَغْلِ ، يَضَعُ حَافِرَهُ عِنْدَ مُنْتَهَى طَرْفِهِ ، فَرَكِبْتُهُ فَسَارَ بِي حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ ، فَرَبَطْتُ الدَّابَّةَ بِالْحَلْقَةِ الَّتِي يَرْبِطُ فِيهَا الْأَنْبِيَاءُ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلْتُ ، فَصَلَّيْتُ فِيهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجْتُ ، فَجَاءَنِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ خَمْرٍ ، وَإِنَاءٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ ، فَاخْتَرْتُ اللَّبَنَ ، قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ : أَصَبْتَ الْفِطْرَةَ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : وَمَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ ، قَالَ : جِبْرِيلُ ، قِيلَ : وَمَنْ مَعَكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدٌ ، فَقِيلَ وَقَدْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : قَدْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَفُتِحَ لَنَا ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِآدَمَ ، فَرَحَّبَ وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الثَّانِيَةِ ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : وَمَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ ، قَالَ : جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : وَمَنْ مَعَكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدٌ ، فَقِيلَ : وَقَدْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : قَدْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَفُتِحَ لَنَا ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِابْنَيْ الْخَالَةِ يَحْيَى ، وَعِيسَى ، فَرَحَّبَا وَدَعَوَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الثَّالِثَةِ ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ ، قَالَ : جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : وَمَنْ مَعَكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدٌ ، فَقِيلَ : وَقَدْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : وَقَدْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَفُتِحَ لَنَا ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِيُوسُفَ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ قَدْ أُعْطِيَ شَطْرَ الْحُسْنِ ، فَرَحَّبَ ، وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الرَّابِعَةِ ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ ، قَالَ : جِبْرِيلُ ، قِيلَ : وَمَنْ مَعَكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدٌ ، فَقِيلَ : قَدْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : قَدْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَفُتِحَ الْبَابُ ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِإِدْرِيسَ ، فَرَحَّبَ بِي ، وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا سورة مريم آية 57 ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الْخَامِسَةِ ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ ، قَالَ : جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : وَمَنْ مَعَكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدٌ ، فَقِيلَ : قَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : قَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَفُتِحَ لَنَا ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِهَارُونَ ، فَرَحَّبَ ، وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ ، قَالَ : جِبْرِيلُ ، قِيلَ : وَمَنْ مَعَكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدٌ ، فَقِيلَ : وَقَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : قَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَفُتِحَ لَنَا ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِمُوسَى ، فَرَحَّبَ ، وَدَعَا لِي بِخَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِنَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ ، فَاسْتَفْتَحَ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقِيلَ : مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ ، قَالَ : جِبْرِيلُ ، قِيلَ : وَمَنْ مَعَكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : مُحَمَّدٌ ، قِيلَ : وَقَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : قَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَفُتِحَ لَنَا ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَإِذَا هُوَ مُسْتَنِدٌ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ ، وَإِذَا هُوَ يَدْخُلُهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ ، لَا يَعُودُونَ إِلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ بِي إِلَى سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهَى ، وَإِذَا وَرَقُهَا كَآذَانِ الْفِيَلَةِ ، وَإِذَا ثَمَرُهَا كَالْقِلَالِ ، فَلَمَّا غَشِيَهَا مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ مَا غَشِيَهَا ، تَغَيَّرَتْ ، فَمَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَصِفَهَا مِنْ حُسْنِهَا ، قَالَ : فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيَّ مَا أَوْحَى ، وَفَرَضَ عَلَيَّ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ خَمْسِينَ صَلَاةً ، فَنَزَلْتُ حَتَّى انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى مُوسَى ، فَقَالَ : مَا فَرَضَ رَبُّكَ عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : خَمْسِينَ صَلَاةً فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ ، قَالَ : ارْجِعْ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَاسْأَلْهُ التَّخْفِيفَ ، فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ ، وَإِنِّي قَدْ بَلَوْتُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَخَبَرْتُهُمْ ، قَالَ : فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، فَقُلْتُ : أَيْ رَبِّ ، خَفِّفْ عَنْ أُمَّتِي ، فَحَطَّ عَنِّي خَمْسًا ، فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى مُوسَى ، فَقَالَ : مَا فَعَلْتَ ؟ ، قُلْتُ : حَطَّ عَنِّي خَمْسًا ، قَالَ : إِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لَا تُطِيقُ ذَاكَ ، فَارْجِعْ إِلَى رَبِّكَ ، فَاسْأَلْهُ التَّخْفِيفَ لِأُمَّتِكَ ، قَالَ : فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَرْجِعُ بَيْنَ رَبِّي وَبَيْنَ مُوسَى ، وَيَحُطُّ عَنِّي خَمْسًا خَمْسًا ، حَتَّى قَالَ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، هِيَ خَمْسُ صَلَوَاتٍ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ ، بِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ عَشْرٌ ، فَتِلْكَ خَمْسُونَ صَلَاةً ، وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كُتِبَتْ حَسَنَةً ، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ عَشْرًا ، وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا لَمْ تُكْتَبْ شَيْئًا ، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً ، فَنَزَلْتُ حَتَّى انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى مُوسَى ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : ارْجِعْ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَاسْأَلْهُ التَّخْفِيفَ لِأُمَّتِكَ ، فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لَا تُطِيقُ ذَاكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَقَدْ رَجَعْتُ إِلَى رَبِّي حَتَّى لَقَدْ اسْتَحْيَيْتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the night of Mi'raj, Buraq was brought to me, which was an animal bigger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. It would place its hoof where its gaze reached. I mounted it, then set off and reached Bayt al-Maqdis, and tied my mount at the ring where the other Prophets (peace be upon them) used to tie theirs. Then I entered there and prayed two rak'ahs. Then I came out, and Jibreel (peace be upon him) brought me a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk. I chose the vessel of milk. Jibreel (peace be upon him) said: You have chosen the natural disposition (fitrah). Then he took me towards the lowest heaven and knocked on its door. The inhabitants of the heaven said: Who is it? He replied: Jibreel. They said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). They said: Has he been called? He said: Yes. So they opened the door, and on the first heaven, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him). He welcomed him and prayed for him.
Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) took you (peace and blessings be upon him) up to the second heaven. At its door, the angels asked the same questions as at the first heaven: Who is it? He said: Jibreel. They said: Who is with you? He said: Muhammad, the Noble Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). They said: Has he been called? They opened the door. There, he met Hazrat Yahya (peace be upon him) and Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him). They welcomed me and prayed for me.
Then he ascended to the third heaven, and the same conversation took place as at the second. Then he ascended to the fourth, and the same conversation took place. Then he reached the fifth heaven, and the same conversation took place. Then he ascended to the sixth heaven, and the angels there also had the same conversation. Then he reached the seventh heaven, and the angels there did the same.
On the third heaven, he met Hazrat Yusuf (peace be upon him), to whom half of all beauty was given. He also welcomed me and prayed for me. On the fourth heaven, he met Hazrat Idris (peace be upon him), whom Allah had raised to a high place. He also welcomed me and prayed for me. On the fifth heaven, he met Hazrat Harun (peace be upon him). He also welcomed me and prayed for me. On the sixth heaven, he met Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him). He also welcomed me and prayed for me. On the seventh heaven, he met Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He also welcomed me and prayed for me. He was sitting reclining against Bayt al-Ma'mur, where seventy thousand angels enter daily and never return for their turn again.
Then I was taken to Sidrat al-Muntaha, whose leaves were like the ears of elephants and its fruits like the jars of Hajar. When, by Allah's command, that which covered it covered it, it changed, and now it is beyond any human's ability to describe its beauty.
Then Allah Almighty revealed what He wished to reveal, including this: Fifty prayers were made obligatory upon your Ummah in the day and night. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) descended from there until he reached Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him), who stopped him and said: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! What covenant has your Lord taken from you? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fifty prayers have been made obligatory every day and night. Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) said: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Your Ummah will not be able to bear this. Go back to your Lord and request a reduction, for I have tested the Children of Israel.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the Lord and, reaching the same place, said: O Lord! Grant us a reduction. Allah Almighty reduced five prayers, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him). He again stopped him and sent him back to the Lord. In this way, Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) kept sending the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) back until Allah Almighty said: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! There are five prayers every day and night, and for every prayer, there is the reward of ten, so these are fifty prayers. Whoever intends to do a good deed but is unable to do it, one good deed will be written for him...

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ وَهُوَ يَلْعَبُ مَعَ الْغِلْمَانِ ، فَأَخَذَهُ ، فَصَرَعَهُ ، وَشَقَّ عَنْ قَلْبِهِ ، فَاسْتَخْرَجَ الْقَلْبَ ، ثُمَّ شَقَّ الْقَلْبَ فَاسْتَخْرَجَ مِنْهُ عَلَقَةً ، فَقَالَ : " هَذِهِ حَظُّ الشَّيْطَانِ مِنْكَ " ، قَالَ : فَغَسَلَهُ فِي طَسْتٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ بمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ ، ثُمَّ لَأَمَهُ ، ثُمَّ أَعَادَهُ فِي مَكَانِهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَاءَ الْغِلْمَانُ يَسْعَوْنَ إِلَى أُمِّهِ يَعْنِي ظِئْرَهُ ، فَقَالُوا : إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا قَدْ قُتِلَ ، قَالَ : فَاسْتَقْبَلُوهُ وَهُوَ مُنْتَقِعُ اللَّوْنِ ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَقد كُنْتُ أَرَى أَثَرَ الْمِخْيَطِ فِي صَدْرِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once, when I was a child playing with other children, suddenly a man came and he grabbed me and split open my stomach. He took out a clot of congealed blood from it and threw it away, saying, "This was the portion of Satan in your body." Then he washed my stomach with Zamzam water from a golden basin, and then he stitched it up and closed it. Seeing this, all the children ran to my mother and said, "Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has been killed." My mother came running and saw that the color of the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was changing. Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we used to see the marks of the stitching on the blessed chest of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 12507
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى يَعْنِي الطَّبَّاعَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ مُلَيْكَةَ دَعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِطَعَامٍ صَنَعَتْهُ ، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " قُومُوا ، فَأُصَلِّيَ لَكُمْ " ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَقُمْتُ إِلَى حَصِيرٍ لَنَا قَدْ اسْوَدَّ مِنْ طُولِ مَا لَبِثَ ، فَنَضَحْتُهُ بِمَاءٍ ، فَقَامَ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقُمْتُ أَنَا وَالْيَتِيمُ وَرَاءَهُ ، وَالْعَجُوزُ مِنْ وَرَائِنَا ، فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that his grandmother, Hazrat Maleeka, once invited the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for a meal. After the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had eaten, he said, "Get up, I will pray for you." Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that he got up and brought a mat which had turned black due to long use. He sprinkled water on it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood on it, and he and an orphan boy stood behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the elderly lady stood behind them. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in two rak'ahs of prayer and then departed.
Hadith 12508
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الرُّؤْيَا الْحَسَنَةُ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ الصَّالِحِ ، جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The good dream of a righteous Muslim is one forty-sixth part of prophethood.
Hadith 12509
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ ، فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ تَذَاكَرْنَا تَعْجِيلَ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " تِلْكَ صَلَاةُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، يَجْلِسُ أَحَدُهُمْ حَتَّى إِذَا اصْفَرَّتْ الشَّمْسُ ، وَكَانَتْ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ ، قَامَ فَنَقَرَ أَرْبَعًا ، لَا يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ فِيهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا " .
Alaa ibn Abdur Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we were performing the Zuhr prayer when we came to the service of Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). Shortly after, he stood up to perform the Asr prayer. When he finished the prayer, we said to him, "Asr prayer so early?" He replied, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'That is the prayer of the hypocrite, that the hypocrite keeps delaying the prayer until, when the sun is between the two horns of Satan, he stands up to pray and pecks four times, remembering Allah very little in it.'"
Hadith 12510
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو مَوْلَى الْمُطَّلِبِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَلَعَ لَهُ أُحُدٌ ، فَقَالَ : " هَذَا جَبَلٌ يُحِبُّنَا وَنُحِبُّهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ ، وَإِنِّي أُحَرِّمُ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the Uhud mountain, he said: "We love this mountain and it loves us. O Allah! Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah as a sanctuary, and I declare the area between the two boundaries of Madinah as a sanctuary."
Hadith 12511
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلَ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ ، فَرَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَتَهُ زَيْنَبَ ، فَكَأَنَّهُ دَخَلَهُ لَا أَدْرِي مِنْ قَوْلِ حَمَّادٍ ، أَوْ فِي الْحَدِيثِ ، فَجَاءَ زَيْدٌ يَشْكُوهَا إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ ، وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ " ، قَالَ : فَنَزَلَتْ وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا سورة الأحزاب آية 37 ، يَعْنِي زَيْنَبَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the house of Hazrat Zaid bin Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him), and there he only saw his wife, Hazrat Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her). After a short while, Hazrat Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a complaint about his wife. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Keep your wife with you and fear Allah." Upon this, the following verse was revealed: "And fear Allah and you conceal within yourself..."
Hadith 12512
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أُحِبُّ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حُبُّكَ إِيَّاهَا أَدْخَلَكَ الْجَنَّةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I love Surah Ikhlas." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your love for this Surah will admit you into Paradise."
Hadith 12513
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَتَّبَّعُهُ مِنَ الصَّحْفَةِ ، فَلَا أَزَالُ أُحِبُّهُ أَبَدًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) searching for pieces of gourd in a vessel, so from that time I began to like it.
Hadith 12514
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا ، قَالَ : لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ فُلَانًا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَأَخْبَرْتَهُ ؟ " ، قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : " فَأَخْبِرْهُ " ، قَالَ : فَلَقِيَهُ بَعْدُ ، فَقَالَ : وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ فِي اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : أَحَبَّكَ الَّذِي أَحْبَبْتَنِي لَهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was sitting in the gathering of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man passed by. Someone among those sitting said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I love this person." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Have you told him this?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then go and tell him." So that man stood up, went to him and said, "Brother! I love you for the sake of Allah." He replied, "May He for whose sake you love me, love you in return."
Hadith 12515
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ أبو داود ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ التَّيْمِيُّ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُصَلِّي بِنَا الْجُمُعَةَ حِينَ تَمِيلُ الشَّمْسُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in the Friday prayer at the time of decline (zawal).
Hadith 12516
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَطِيَّةَ يَعْنِي الْحَكَمَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَخْرُجُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ ، فِيهِ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ ، وَالْأَنْصَارُ ، وَمَا مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ حُبْوَتِهِ إِلَّا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرُ ، فَيَتَبَسَّمُ إِلَيْهِمَا ، وَيَتَبَسَّمَانِ إِلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to the mosque, all the Ansar and Muhajirin would be present there, but except for Hazrat Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), no one would raise his head. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would look at them and smile, and they both would look at the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and smile.
Hadith 12517
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ يَعْنِي الْخَزَّازَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ أَسْوَدَ كَانَ يُنَظِّفُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَمَاتَ ، فَدُفِنَ لَيْلًا ، وَأَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأُخْبِرَ ، فَقَالَ : " انْطَلِقُوا إِلَى قَبْرِهِ " ، فَانْطَلَقُوا إِلَى قَبْرِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْقُبُورَ مُمْتَلِئَةٌ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا ظُلْمَةً ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُنَوِّرُهَا بِصَلَاتِي عَلَيْهَا " ، فَأَتَى الْقَبْرَ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أَخِي مَاتَ ، وَلَمْ تُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : " فَأَيْنَ قَبْرُهُ " ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ ، فَانْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was an Abyssinian who used to clean the mosque. One day he passed away, and the people buried him during the night. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found out, he said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Let us go to his grave." So they went to his grave. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "There is darkness upon the dwellers of these graves. By the blessing of my prayer, Allah will illuminate them." Thus, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer at his grave. Upon this, an Ansari said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! My brother had passed away, but you did not offer the funeral prayer at his grave." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Where is his grave?" The Ansari pointed it out, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went with him as well.
Hadith 12518
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ أَبِي : وَأَمْلَاهُ عَلَيْنَا يَعْنِي أَبَا دَاوُدَ ، مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، فَقَالَ شُعْبَةُ : أَخْبَرَنِي ثَابِتٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ " أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ : " يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, every deceiver will have a flag.
Hadith 12519
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، سَأَل أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ بِمَا مَاتَ ابْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ؟ ، فَقَالُوا : بِالطَّاعُونِ ، فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ " .
Hazrat Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) how Ibn Abi Umrah passed away? He replied that it was due to the disease of plague. He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Plague is martyrdom for every Muslim.
Hadith 12520
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا نَعَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَلْيَنْصَرِفْ ، فَلْيَنَمْ حَتَّى يَعْلَمَ مَا يَقُولُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any of you becomes drowsy while praying, he should go back and sleep until he knows what he is saying.
Hadith 12521
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ : " أَقْرِئْ قَوْمَكَ السَّلَامَ ، فَإِنَّهُمْ مَا عَلِمْتُ أَعِفَّةٌ صُبُرٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him): Convey my greetings to your people, for I do not know of people more chaste and patient than them.
Hadith 12522
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، أَنَّ أَنَسًا حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَقْبَلَهُ نِسَاءٌ وَصِبْيَانٌ وَخَدَمٌ ، جَائِينَ مِنْ عُرْسٍ ، مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَقَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some women, children, and servants of the Ansar were passing by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as they were returning from a wedding. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) greeted them with salam and said, "By Allah! I love you people."
Hadith 12523
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : إِذَا مَرَرْتُمْ بِرِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ ، فَارْتَعُوا " ، قَالُوا : وَمَا رِيَاضُ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " حِلَقُ الذِّكْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you pass by the gardens of Paradise, eat from its fruits. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: What is meant by the gardens of Paradise? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: The circles of remembrance (dhikr).
Hadith 12524
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، َأخبَرَنَا عَمَّارٌ يَعْنِي أَبَا هَاشِمٍ صَاحِبَ الزَّعْفَرانيّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ بِلَالًا بَطَّأَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا حَبَسَكَ ؟ " ، فَقَالَ : مَرَرْتُ بِفَاطِمَةَ وَهِيَ تَطْحَنُ ، وَالصَّبِيُّ يَبْكِي ، فَقُلْتُ لَهَا : إِنْ شِئْتِ كَفَيْتُكِ الرَّحَا ، وَكَفَيْتِنِي الصَّبِيَّ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتِ كَفَيْتُكِ الصَّبِيَّ وَكَفَيْتِنِي الرَّحَا ، فَقَالَتْ : أَنَا أَرْفَقُ بِابْنِي مِنْكَ ، فَذَاكَ حَبَسَنِي ، قَالَ : " فَرَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) delayed the Fajr prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "What kept you back?" He replied, "I passed by Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her); she was grinding flour and the child was crying. I said to her, 'If you wish, I will grind the flour and you can take care of the child, or if you wish, I will take care of the child and you can grind the flour?' She said, 'I can be gentler with my child.' Because of this, I was delayed." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You showed mercy to her, may Allah have mercy on you."
Hadith 12525
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ شَدَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ أَنَسًا حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ هَاتَيْنِ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، يَعْنِي الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers while on a journey.
Hadith 12526
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُقْبِلُ وَمَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ شَخْصٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْنَا مِنْهُ ، فَمَا نَقُومُ لَهُ ، لِمَا نَعْلَمُ مِنْ كَرَاهِيَتِهِ لِذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that in our eyes, there was no one more beloved than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but we would not stand up upon seeing the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) because we knew that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not like it.
Hadith 12527
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ : أَنْ يُرْفَعَ الْعِلْمُ ، وَيَثْبُتَ الْجَهْلُ ، وَتُشْرَبَ الْخُمُورُ ، وَيَظْهَرَ الزِّنا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the signs of the Hour is that knowledge will be taken away, ignorance will prevail, wine will be drunk, and adultery will become widespread.
Hadith 12528
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُخَيْسِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اسْتُشْهِدَ مَوْلَاكَ فُلَانٌ ؟ قَالَ : " كَلَّا ، إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَبَاءَةً ، غَلَّهَا يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Has your such-and-such servant been martyred?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Never! I saw a cloak on him which he had acquired by committing treachery from the spoils of war on such-and-such day."
Hadith 12529
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ أَبُو غَالِبٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، شَهِدَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْعَدَوِيُّ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ سِنُّ أَيِّ الرِّجَالِ كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ بُعِثَ ؟ قَالَ : ابْنَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ كَانَ مَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : كَانَ بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، فَتَمَّتْ لَهُ سِتُّونَ سَنَةً ، ثُمَّ قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : سِنُّ أَيِّ الرِّجَالِ هُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ؟ قَالَ : كَأَشَبِّ الرِّجَالِ ، وَأَحْسَنِهِ ، وَأَجْمَلِهِ ، وَأَلْحَمِهِ ، قَالَ : يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ ، هَلْ غَزَوْتَ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، غَزَوْتُ مَعَهُ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ، فَخَرَجَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ بِكَثْرَةٍ ، فَحَمَلُوا عَلَيْنَا ، حَتَّى رَأَيْنَا خَيْلَنَا وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِنَا ، وَفِي الْمُشْرِكِينَ رَجُلٌ يَحْمِلُ عَلَيْنَا فَيَدُقُّنَا وَيُحَطِّمُنَا ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَزَلَ فَهَزَمَهُمْ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَوَلَّوْا ، فَقَامَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ رَأَى الْفَتْحَ ، فَجَعَلَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُجَاءُ بِهِمْ أُسَارَى رَجُلًا رَجُلًا ، فَيُبَايِعُونَهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ عَلَيَّ نَذْرًا لَئِنْ جِيءَ بِالرَّجُلِ الَّذِي كَانَ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ يُحَطِّمُنَا لَأَضْرِبَنَّ عُنُقَهُ ، قَالَ : فَسَكَتَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَجِيءَ بِالرَّجُلِ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، تُبْتُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ، يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، تُبْتُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ، قال : فَأَمْسَكَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمْ يُبَايِعْهُ لِيُوفِيَ الْآخَرُ نَذْرَهُ ، قَالَ : فَجَعَلَ يَنْظُرُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَأْمُرَهُ بِقَتْلِهِ ، وَجَعَلَ يَهَابُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْتُلَهُ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أنه لَا يَصْنَعُ شَيْئًا يَأْتِيهِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ نَذْرِي ! قَالَ : " لَمْ أُمْسِكْ عَنْهُ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ إِلَّا لِتُوفِيَ نَذْرَكَ " فَقَالَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، أَلَا أَوْمَضْتَ إِلَيَّ ؟ فَقَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يُومِضَ " .
Once, Alaa bin Ziyad (may Allah have mercy on him) asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), “O Abu Hamza! How old was the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he was sent as a Prophet?” He replied, “Forty years old.” Alaa asked, “What happened after that?” He replied, “He (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Makkah for ten years, and in Madinah for ten years, thus completing sixty years. After that, Allah called the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to Himself.” Alaa asked, “At that time, what kind of man did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appear to be?” He replied, “Like a handsome and well-built young man.” Alaa bin Ziyad (may Allah have mercy on him) then asked, “Abu Hamza! Did you participate in jihad with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?” He said, “Yes, I was present with him (peace and blessings be upon him) at the Battle of Hunayn. The polytheists came out in great numbers and attacked us, so much so that we looked behind our horses’ backs, and among the disbelievers was a man who attacked us and wounded and killed people with his sword. Seeing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted, then Allah defeated them and they turned their backs and fled. When victory was achieved, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, and one by one, the prisoners of war began to be brought, and they came and started pledging allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on Islam. One man, who was among your noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them), had vowed that if the man who wounded us that day was brought as a captive, he would kill him. Hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent, and that man was brought. When that man saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said, ‘O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have repented to Allah.’ (Upon hearing this) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed accepting his pledge, thinking that the companion (may Allah be pleased with him) would fulfill his vow (i.e., kill the man as soon as possible), but the companion was waiting for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to order the killing, so that he could kill the man, and I was afraid that I might kill the man and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be displeased with me. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw that the companion was not doing anything, i.e., was not killing the man in any way, then finally, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was compelled to accept his pledge. Upon this, the companion said, ‘O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! How will my vow be fulfilled?’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘The reason I delayed and did not accept his pledge was so that you could fulfill your vow.’ He said, ‘O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Why did you not signal to me?’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ‘It is not appropriate for a Prophet to make a secret signal with his eyes.’
Hadith 12530
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نَخْلٍ لَنَا ، نخلٍ لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، يَتَبَرَّزُ لِحَاجَتِهِ ، قَالَ : وَبِلَالٌ يَمْشِي وَرَاءَهُ ، يكرم نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يمشي إلى جنبه ، فمر نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بقبر ، فقام حتى لم إليه بلال ، فقال : " وَيْحَكَ يَا بِلَالُ ، هَلْ تَسْمَعُ مَا أَسْمَعُ ؟ " قَالَ : مَا أَسْمَعُ شَيْئًا ، قَالَ : " صَاحِبُ الْقَبْرِ يُعَذَّبُ " ، قَالَ : فَسُئِلَ عَنْهُ فَوُجِدَ يَهُودِيًّا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was going to the gardens of Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) to relieve himself. Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was walking behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he considered it disrespectful to walk beside the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). While walking, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a grave and stood there until Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) also arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Bilal! Do you also hear the sound that I am hearing?" He replied, "I do not hear any sound." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The one in this grave is being punished." Upon inquiry, it was found out that he was a Jew.
Hadith 12531
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : كَانَ قِرَامٌ لِعَائِشَةَ ، قَدْ سَتَرَتْ بِهِ جَانِبَ بَيْتِهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمِيطِي عَنَّا قِرَامَكِ هَذَا ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا تَزَالُ تَصَاوِيرُهُ تَعْرِضُ لِي فِي صَلَاتِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) had a curtain which she had hung in a corner of her house. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her, "Remove this curtain from here, because its images kept appearing before me continuously during prayer."
Hadith 12532
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَعَ ثَابِتٍ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ ثابت : إِنِّي اشْتَكَيْتُ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا أَرْقِيكَ بِرُقْيَةِ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاة وَالسَّلَامُ ؟ قَالَ : بَلَى ، قَالَ : " قُلْ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ ، مُذْهِبَ الْبَأْسِ ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي ، لَا شَافِيَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، اشْفِ شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا " .
Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once we went to Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) along with Thabit. Thabit mentioned his illness. He (Anas) said, "Shall I not tell you the incantation which the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to recite?" He said, "Why not." He (Anas) said, "Say: O Allah! Lord of the people! Remover of difficulties! Grant healing, for You are the only Healer. There is no healer except You. Grant such a healing that leaves no trace of illness."
Hadith 12533
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا سِنَانٌ أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسٌ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُتَخَلِّفُونَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ وَصَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ مَا لَهُمْ فِيهِمَا ، لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If those who stay behind from the Isha and Fajr prayers knew what reward there is in these two prayers, they would surely participate in them even if they had to come crawling on their knees.
Hadith 12534
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا سِنَانٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسٌ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَذَ غُصْنًا ، فَنَفَضَهُ ، فَلَمْ يَنْتَفِضْ ، ثُمَّ نَفَضَهُ ، فَلَمْ يَنْتَفِضْ ، ثُمَّ نَفَضَهُ ، فَانْتَفَضَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، تَنْفُضُ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا تَنْفُضُ الشَّجَرَةُ وَرَقَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) shook a tree, but its leaves did not fall; even after shaking it a second time, the leaves did not fall. However, when he shook it a third time, its leaves began to fall. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that by saying "Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, and Allahu Akbar," sins fall away just as the leaves fall from a tree.
Hadith 12535
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ النُّمَيْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ يَمُوتُ لَهُ ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحِنْثَ ، إِلَّا أَدْخَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَبَوَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That Muslim person whose three minor children have passed away, Allah will, by His grace and mercy, grant entry to their parents into Paradise.
Hadith 12536
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُكْسَى حُلَّةً مِنَ النَّارِ إِبْلِيسُ ، فَيَضَعُهَا عَلَى حَاجِبِهِ ، وَيَسْحَبُهَا مِنْ خَلْفِهِ ، وَذُرِّيَّتُهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ ، وَهُوَ يُنَادِي وَاثُبُورَاهُ ، وَيُنَادُونَ يَا ثُبُورَهُمْ قَالَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ : قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ حَتَّى يَقِفُوا عَلَى النَّارِ ، فَيَقُولُ : يَا ثُبُورَاهُ ، وَيَقُولُونَ : يَا ثُبُورَهُمْ ، فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ : لا تَدْعُوا الْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَاحِدًا وَادْعُوا ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا سورة الفرقان آية 14 ، " قَالَ عَفَّانُ : " وَذُرِّيَّتُهُ خَلْفَهُ ، وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ : يَا ثُبُورَهُمْ " ، قَالَ عَفَّانُ : " حَاجِبَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first to be clothed with the garments of Hell will be Iblis, and he will place them on his eyebrows. Behind him, his progeny will be dragged, and Satan will be crying out, "Woe and destruction!" and his progeny will also be saying, "Woe and destruction!" Saying this, they will reach the edge of Hell and stop there. Then Satan will again say, "Woe and destruction!" and his progeny will also say the same. At that moment, it will be said to them, "Do not call for one destruction today, but call for many destructions."
Hadith 12537
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until people begin to boast to one another regarding their mosques.
Hadith 12538
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ إِنْ تَشَأْ ، أَنْ لَا تُعْبَدَ فِي الْأَرْضِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that on the day of the Battle of Uhud, the supplication of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was: O Allah! Do You wish that after today, You will not be worshipped?
Hadith 12539
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ آدَمَ تَرَكَهُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَدَعَهُ ، فَجَعَلَ إِبْلِيسُ يُطِيفُ بِهِ ، يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ ، فَلَمَّا رَآهُ أَجْوَفَ ، عَرَفَ أَنَّهُ خَلْقٌ لَا يَتَمَالَكُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah created the figure of Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him), He left it as it was for some time. Satan used to circle around that figure and observe it. When he saw that there was a belly in the middle of this creature's body, he realized that this creature would not be able to control itself.
