Hadith 10108
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحٌ مَوْلَى التَّوْءَمَةِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ غَسَّلَ مَيِّتًا فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever bathes a deceased person should also take a bath himself.
Hadith 10109
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ فَقَدْ رَآنِي ، إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَتَشَبَّهُ بِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever is blessed with seeing me in a dream should be certain that he has indeed seen me, because Satan does not have the power to assume my form and appearance.
Hadith 10110
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرٌ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الظَّهْرُ يُرْكَبُ بِنَفَقَةٍ ، إِذَا كَانَ مَرْهُونًا ، وَيُشْرَبُ لَبَنُ الدَّرِّ ، إِذَا كَانَ مَرْهُونًا ، وَعَلَى الَّذِي يَشْرَبُ وَيَرْكَبُ نَفَقَتُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If an animal is kept with someone as collateral, then its fodder will be obligatory upon the one holding it in pledge, and the milk of a milking animal can be drunk, but whoever drinks its milk, its expense will also be upon him, and it can also be ridden.
Hadith 10111
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : " أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثٍ : الْوَتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ ، وَصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ، وَالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that my beloved friend (peace be upon him) advised me regarding three things, which I will not abandon until my death: (1) to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, (2) to fast three days in every month, (3) to perform Ghusl (ritual bath) on Fridays.
Hadith 10112
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " صَلَاةٌ فِي مَسْجِدِي هَذَا ، أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ ، إِلَّا الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The reward for offering prayer in my mosque is one thousand times greater than in all other mosques, except for Masjid al-Haram.
Hadith 10113
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمَانُ الْأَغَرُّ ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 10114
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٌ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . وَالْحَسَنِ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ , وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that saying "Subhan Allah" upon the imam's mistake is prescribed for male followers, and clapping is prescribed for women.
Hadith 10115
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ هِشَامٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مَنْ أَمْسَكَ كَلْبًا ، نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ ، إِلَّا كَلْبَ حَرْثٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog for purposes other than hunting, or guarding fields or herds, then his reward will decrease by one qirat every day.
Hadith 10116
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ضَمْضَمٌ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْأَسْوَدَيْنِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ : الْحَيَّةِ وَالْعَقْرَبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has commanded that even during prayer, "the two black things, i.e., the snake and the scorpion," can be killed.
Hadith 10117
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ ، وَمَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever stands (in prayer) during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven. Similarly, whoever stands (in prayer) during the Night of Qadr with faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven.
Hadith 10118
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ , وَأَبُو عَامِرٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، فَذَكَرَا مِثْلَهُ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُمَا قَالَا : " مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا " .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 10119
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مُزَاحِمِ بْنِ زُفَرَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فِيمَا أَعْلَمُ شَكَّ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : " دِينَارٌ أَنْفَقْتَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَدِينَارٌ فِي الْمَسَاكِينِ ، وَدِينَارٌ فِي رَقَبَةٍ ، وَدِينَارٌ فِي أَهْلِكَ ، أَعْظَمُهَا أَجْرًا الدِّينَارُ الَّذِي تُنْفِقُهُ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The dinar that you spend in the way of Allah, and the dinar that you distribute among the needy, and the dinar with which you free a slave, and the dinar that you spend on your family—among these, the greatest reward will be for the dinar that you spend on your family.
Hadith 10120
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَمُوتُ لَهُ ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحِنْثَ ، فَتَمَسُّهُ النَّارُ , إِلَّا تَحِلَّةَ الْقَسَمِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any Muslim whose three minor children have died, it is not possible that he will enter Hell except to fulfill an oath (he will not remain in Hell forever)."
Hadith 10121
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " فَضْلُ صَلَاةِ الْجَمَاعَةِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ وَحْدَهُ ، خَمْسَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ جُزْءًا " ، قَالَ يَحْيَى : إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The superiority of prayer offered in congregation over prayer offered alone is twenty-five degrees more.
Hadith 10122
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادٌ يَعْنِي مَوْلَى بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، فَأَوَّلُ زُمْرَةٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ ، صُورَةُ كُلِّ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ عَلَى صُورَةِ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، كَأَشَدِّ ضَوْءِ نَجْمٍ فِي السَّمَاءِ ، ثُمَّ هُمْ مَنَازِلُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Although we came last, on the Day of Resurrection we will enter Paradise first. The faces of the first group of my Ummah to enter Paradise will be as bright as the full moon of the fourteenth night. The group that enters after them will be like the brightest star in the sky. After that, people will enter in ranks, one after another.
Hadith 10123
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قََالَ : َحَدَّثَنَا زِيَادٌ مَوْلَى بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ دَاخِلٌ الْجَنَّةَ بِعَمَلِهِ " , قِيلَ : وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَلَا أَنَا ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ وَفَضْلٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you will be saved by his deeds. A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), not even you?" He replied, "Not even me, unless my Lord covers me with His forgiveness and mercy."
Hadith 10124
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 10125
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا جَاءَ خَادِمُ أَحَدِكُمْ بِطَعَامِهِ ، فَلْيُجْلِسْهُ مَعَهُ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يُجْلِسْهُ ، فَلْيُنَاوِلْهُ مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a servant among you brings food that he has cooked, he should make him sit with him and feed him as well. If he cannot do so, then he should at least give him a morsel from it.
Hadith 10126
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ذَكْوَانُ أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي ، مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ ، وَلَكِنْ لَا يَجِدُونَ حَمُولَةً ، وَلَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ ، وَيَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنِّي ، وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي قَاتَلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، فَقُتِلْتُ ، ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ ، ثُمَّ قُتِلْتُ ، ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ ، ثُمَّ قُتِلْتُ ، ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My heart desires that I should never remain behind any expedition sent out in the way of Allah, but I do not have enough means to provide mounts for all of them. I wish that I could fight in the way of Allah and attain martyrdom, then be granted life again, participate in jihad and be martyred, then participate in jihad and be martyred again.
Hadith 10127
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَجْلَانُ مَوْلَى الْمُشْمَعِلِّ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ رُكُوبِ الْبَدَنَةِ , فَقَالَ : " ارْكَبْهَا " ، قَالَ إِنَّهَا بَدَنَةٌ ! قَالَ " ارْكَبْهَا وَيْلَك " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about riding a sacrificial animal (when a person is going for Hajj and has no other means of transport). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Ride it." He submitted, "This is a sacrificial animal." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said, "Ride it."
Hadith 10128
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ لِصَاحِبِهِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ أَنْصِتْ فَقَدْ لَغَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: When the Imam is delivering the Friday sermon and you say to your companion, "Be quiet," then you have engaged in idle talk.
Hadith 10129
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ سَجْدَةً مِنْ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ ، فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ ، وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ سَجْدَةً مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever catches one rak'ah of the Fajr prayer before sunrise has caught that prayer, and whoever catches one rak'ah of the Asr prayer before sunset has caught that prayer.
Hadith 10130
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " حَدِّثُوا عَنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلَا حَرَجَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You may relate traditions from the Children of Israel; there is no harm in it.
Hadith 10131
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ وَجَدَ مَالَهُ بِعَيْنِهِ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ قَدْ أَفْلَسَ ، فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a man is declared bankrupt and someone finds his own property with him in its original form, then he has more right to that property than others.
Hadith 10132
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمٌ يَصُومُهُ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلَا يَرْفُثْ وَلَا يَجْهَلْ ، فَإِنْ جُهِلَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي امْرُؤٌ صَائِمٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting, he should not indulge in any indecent or ignorant talk. If someone wants to fight or abuse him, he should simply say: I am fasting.
Hadith 10133
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : " وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ إِنَّ قُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا سورة الإسراء آية 78 ، قَالَ : تَشْهَدُ مَلَائِكَةُ اللَّيْلِ وَمَلَائِكَةُ النَّهَار " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the explanation of the Quranic verse "Indeed, the recitation of the Qur'an at dawn is ever witnessed" that at that time, the angels of the night and the angels of the day gather together.
Hadith 10134
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَتَاكُمْ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ ، هُمْ أَرَقُّ أَفْئِدَةً ، الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ ، وَالْفِقْهُ يَمَانٍ ، وَالْحِكْمَةُ يَمَانِيَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Yemen have come to you; these people are soft-hearted, and faith, wisdom, and jurisprudence are very excellent among the people of Yemen.
Hadith 10135
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قََالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُثَنَّى ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا تَشَاجَرْتُمْ أَوْ اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ ، فَدَعُوا سَبْعَ أَذْرُعٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When people disagree about the measurement of a path, then resolve it by agreeing upon seven cubits.
Hadith 10136
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ , عَنْ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَجَاوَزَ لِأُمَّتِي عَمَّا حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسَهَا ، مَا لَمْ تَعْمَلْ بِهِ أَوْ تَكَلَّمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has granted my Ummah this concession that they will not be held accountable for the whispers that arise in their minds, provided that they do not act upon them or express them with their tongues.
Hadith 10137
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ . وَحَجَّاجٌ ، قََالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , الْمَعْنَى ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : إِذَا مُتُّ فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا عَلَيَّ فُسْطَاطًا ، وَلَا تَتْبَعُونِي بِنَارٍ ، وَأَسْرِعُوا بِي إِلَى رَبِّي ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَبْدُ أَوْ الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ ، قَالَ : قَدِّمُونِي قَدِّمُونِي ، وَإِذَا وُضِعَ الرَّجُلُ السَّوْءُ ، قَالَ وَيْلَكُمْ أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ بِي " .
Abdur Rahman bin Mehran (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when the time of the death of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) approached, he began to say: "Do not set up any tent over me, do not take fire with me, and take me quickly, because I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When a righteous man is placed on the bier, he says, 'Take me forward quickly, take me forward quickly,' and if a sinful man is placed on the bier, he says, 'Alas! Where are you taking me?'"
Hadith 10138
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ أَبِي نَافِعٍ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا سَبَقَ إِلَّا فِي خُفٍّ ، أَوْ نَصْلٍ ، أَوْ حَافِرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Only camels or horses may be raced.
Hadith 10138M
وَحَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , وَيَزِيدُ , عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ أَبِي نَافِعٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي أَحْمَدَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 10139
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا ، وَلَا عَلَى خَالَتِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A woman should not be married together with her paternal aunt or her maternal aunt.
Hadith 10140
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَثِيرٍ ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْخَمْرُ فِي هَاتَيْنِ الشَّجَرَتَيْنِ النَّخْلَةِ ، وَالْعِنَبَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wine is made from these two trees: one is the date-palm and the other is the grapevine.
Hadith 10141
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ , الْمَعْنَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قََالَ : يَحْيَى ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : " مَا عَابَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامًا قَطُّ ، كَانَ إِذَا اشْتَهَاهُ أَكَلَهُ ، وَإِذَا لَمْ يَشْتَهِهِ تَرَكَهُ " .
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never found fault with any food; if he desired it, he would eat it, and if he did not desire it, he would remain silent.
Hadith 10142
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كَيْسَانَ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ ، فَإِنْ اتَّبَعَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي الْقَبْرِ ، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَان " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , مَا الْقِيرَاطُ ؟ قَالَ : مِثْلُ أُحُد .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever offers the funeral prayer for someone will receive a reward equal to one qirat, and whoever waits until the burial is completed will receive a reward equal to two qirats. The narrator says: I asked Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), "What is meant by qirat?" He replied: "It is equal to the mountain of Uhud."
Hadith 10143
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مِرَاءٌ فِي الْقُرْآنِ كُفْرٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Disputing about the Qur'an is disbelief.
Hadith 10144
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَمْنَعُوا إِمَاءَ اللَّهِ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ ، وَلْيَخْرُجْنَ تَفِلَات " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from coming to the mosque, but they should come in their ordinary state without adornment or perfume.
Hadith 10145
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : " لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ : فَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يُفْطِرُ ، وَفَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يَلْقَى رَبَّهُ ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ ، أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْك " .
It is narrated from the previous chain that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The fasting person experiences two occasions of joy and happiness; when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah, he will also be happy. And the breath of the fasting person’s mouth is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
Hadith 10146
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تُسْتَأْمَرُ الْيَتِيمَةُ فِي نَفْسِهَا ، فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ فَهُوَ إِذْنُهَا ، وَإِنْ أَبَتْ فَلَا جَوَازَ عَلَيْهَا " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Permission should be sought from a virgin girl for marriage; if she remains silent, then this will be considered as her permission, and if she refuses, then there is no justification for forcing her.
