Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no zakat on a Muslim’s horse and slave.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the strap of one of your sandals breaks, do not walk with one foot wearing a sandal and the other bare; either wear both sandals or take off both.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you puts on shoes, he should begin with the right foot, and when he takes them off, he should take off the left foot first. He also said: Wear both shoes together or take both off together.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making two transactions in one deal and wearing two types of clothing, and that is: a person sits wrapped in one cloth with nothing covering his private parts at all, and that a person wraps himself in his lower garment and prays in that state.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Name yourselves after me, but do not take my kunya as your kunya."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while passing by a person, he saw that he was driving a camel. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Ride on it." He replied, "This is a sacrificial animal." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said, "Ride on it." Then I saw that he rode on it while there was a shoe hanging from the camel's neck.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said, "I came to you last night, but something prevented me from entering your house. There was a picture of a man in the house. Actually, there was a curtain in the house on which a human image was made. Upon searching, it was found that there was a puppy under the bed of Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them). At the command of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it was taken out, and the head of the image was cut off so that it would become like a tree, and cushions were made from the curtain."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of unlawful medicines, that is, poison.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever commits suicide by drinking poison, that poison will be in his hand and he will sip it in the Hellfire, and he will remain there forever. Whoever kills himself with a sharp instrument (commits suicide), that sharp instrument will be in his hand and he will stab it into his belly in the Hellfire, and he will remain there forever. And whoever throws himself down from a mountain and commits suicide, he will keep falling down from a mountain in Hell, and he will remain there forever.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The prayers of three types of people are accepted and there is no doubt about their acceptance: the prayer of the oppressed, the prayer of the traveler, and the prayer of a father for his son.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is much better for a man's stomach to be filled with pus until he is satisfied than for it to be filled with poetry.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Any prayer in which Surah Al-Fatiha is not recited is incomplete, incomplete, incomplete.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he never saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performing the Duha (forenoon) prayer except on one occasion.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the explanation of "Maqam Mahmood" that it refers to intercession (Shafa'at).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This fire of yours, which the children of Adam kindle, is one part out of seventy parts of the fire of Hell." A man said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), by Allah! Even this one part would be sufficient." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The fire of Hell is sixty-nine degrees hotter than this, each degree equal in heat to this (worldly fire)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Disputing about the Qur'an is disbelief.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among you leaves his house for my mosque, for each step he takes, a good deed is written for him and the other step erases his sins.

Ibrahim bin Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I saw Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) on top of the mosque and he was performing ablution. I asked, "With what are you performing ablution?" He said, "I ate some pieces of cheese, and I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: After eating something cooked on fire, perform ablution."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the first three groups to enter Paradise are "the martyr," the slave who worships his Lord well and fulfills the rights of his master, and the modest man who, despite having many dependents, safeguards his self-respect. And among the three groups who will be the first to enter Hell are the ruler who forcibly imposes himself upon the people, the wealthy man who does not fulfill the rights of his wealth, and the poor man who walks around boasting.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has intercourse with a woman in her back private part is accursed.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drags his lower garment on the ground out of pride, Allah will not look at him with mercy.

And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A woman entered Hell only because of a cat which she had tied up; she neither fed it nor gave it water, nor did she let it go free so that it could eat the insects of the earth by itself.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer for Najashi and said four takbirs in it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any Muslim whose three minor children have died, it is not possible that he will enter Hell except to fulfill an oath (he will not remain in Hell forever)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best era of my Ummah is the one in which I was sent, then the era of those who come after them, then the era of those who come after them. (Now Allah knows best whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned 'those who come after' twice or three times.) After that, there will come a people who will love obesity and will be ready to give testimony before it is even requested."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If I am invited to a meal of just one foreleg, I will accept it, and if I am invited to a meal of just one foot, I will still accept it. It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he never saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finding fault with any food; if he desired it, he would eat it, and if he did not desire it, he would remain silent.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Saying "Subhan Allah" to remind the imam is for men, and clapping is for women.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Envy is permissible only towards two persons: one is the person whom Allah has granted the wealth of the Qur'an, and he remains engaged in its recitation day and night; when another person sees him, he says, "If only I were granted wealth like this person, so I could act as he does." The second is the person whom Allah has granted wealth and riches, and he spends it in the way of truth; when another person sees him, he says, "If only I were granted wealth like this person, so I could act as he does."

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person commits adultery, he is not a believer at that moment; when a person steals, he is not a believer at that moment; when a person drinks alcohol, he is not a believer at that moment. And the door of repentance is open.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If any of you were certain that he would receive a thick, fat bone or two fine hoofs, he would surely join me in prayer (according to another narration, even in the Isha prayer). My heart desires that I order a man to lead the prayer, then I go to those people who do not participate in the congregational prayer and set fire to their houses.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every good deed of the son of Adam is increased for him from ten times up to seven hundred times, except for fasting (about which Allah Almighty says): Fasting is especially for Me and I Myself will give its reward. The fasting person leaves his desires and food for My sake. The fasting person has two occasions of joy and happiness: when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah Almighty, he will also be happy. The smell from the mouth of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not bear malice against one another, do not deceive or envy one another, and be, O servants of Allah, brothers to one another as Allah has commanded you.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For a man's belly to be filled with pus until he is satisfied is better than for it to be filled with poetry.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the strap of the shoe of any one of you breaks, he should not walk with a shoe on one foot and the other foot bare (he should either wear both shoes or take both off). And when a dog puts its mouth in the utensil of any one of you, he should wash that utensil seven times. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Yemen have come to you. These people are soft-hearted, and faith, wisdom, and jurisprudence are very excellent among the people of Yemen. Pride and arrogance are found among the owners of camels, and calmness and dignity are found among the owners of goats.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best charity is that which leaves something behind (do not spend all your wealth). The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and you should begin giving charity to those who are under your responsibility.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "I deal with My servant according to his expectation of Me. Whenever he remembers Me, I am with him. If he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in My heart. If he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a better gathering. If he comes near Me by a handspan, I come near him by an arm's length. If he comes near Me by an arm's length, I come near him by a fathom. And if he comes to Me walking, I come to him running."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any woman who spends the night away from her husband's bed (due to anger), the angels curse her throughout the night until morning."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three types of people with whom Allah will neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He look at them with mercy, nor will He purify them, and for them there will be a painful punishment. The first is the person who has surplus water in a desert area and refuses to give it to a traveler. The second is the person who pledges allegiance to a ruler, but his intention is only worldly gain; if he gets it, he remains loyal to the ruler, but if he does not get it, he does not fulfill his pledge of allegiance. The third is the person who, after the Asr prayer, swears a false oath and sells his merchandise.
