Hadith 2157
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever participates in building a mosque for Allah—even if it is as small as a bird’s nest where a sandgrouse lays its eggs—Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."

Abu Jamrah al-Duba'i says: I put on the ihram with the intention of performing Hajj Tamattu', but people forbade me. I went to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and asked him about this issue, so he told me to go ahead and do it. Then I set out towards the House of Allah, and when I arrived there, I fell asleep. In my dream, a person came to me and said: "Your 'Umrah has been accepted and your Hajj is also accepted." When I woke up from the dream, I went to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and told him about my dream. Upon this, he said "Allahu Akbar" twice and said: "This is the Sunnah of Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him)." And he said: "In Hady, participation is allowed in a camel, cow, goat, or an animal shared by seven people."
Hadith 2159
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once some people began to ask him about the prayer during travel. He replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), after leaving his home, would continue to perform two rak‘ahs (shortened prayer) until he returned home.
Hadith 2160
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 2161
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of the milk of a goat that eats filth, and from (using) an animal that is tied up and used as a target, and he forbade drinking water directly from the mouth of a waterskin.

Nadr bin Anas says that once I was sitting with Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), and he was giving fatwas to the people but was not attributing any of his fatwas to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). During this, an Iraqi man came and said, "I am from Iraq, and I do the work of making images." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) ordered him two or three times to come closer. When he came near, he said, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever makes images in this world will be commanded on the Day of Resurrection to put a soul into that image, and obviously, he will not be able to put a soul into it.'"
Hadith 2163
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A previously married woman has more right over herself than her guardian, but a virgin should be asked for her permission, and her silence is her permission."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once he spent the night at the house of his maternal aunt, Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). He says: I lay down placing my head across the width of the pillow, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his noble wife lay down placing their heads along the length of the pillow. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slept. When half the night had passed, or a little before or after it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up and sat, and began to wipe his blessed face with his hands to remove the effects of sleep. Then he recited the last ten verses of Surah Al-Imran, then stood up and went to a hanging water-skin, performed ablution from it and did it thoroughly, and stood up to pray. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: I also stood up and did as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had done, and went and stood on his left side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his right hand on my head and took hold of my right ear and began to twist it (and made me stand on his right side). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first prayed two rak‘ahs, then continued to pray two by two rak‘ahs until he had prayed a total of twelve rak‘ahs, then he prayed witr, and then lay down until when the mu’adhdhin came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he stood up and prayed two light rak‘ahs, then went out and led the people in the Fajr prayer.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once, at midday, I had the honor of seeing the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. At that time, the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) hair was disheveled and there was dust on his body. He (peace be upon him) had a bottle with him in which he was searching for something. I asked, “O Messenger of Allah! What is this?” He replied, “This is the blood of Husayn and his companions. I have been collecting it since morning.” The narrator of the hadith, Ammar, says that we remembered that date in our minds, and later it became known that Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred on that very date and day (on which Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, saw the dream).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Quraysh demanded from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to supplicate to his Lord to turn the mountain of Safa into gold for them, and they would believe in him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you really believe?" They said: "Yes!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated. Jibreel (peace be upon him) appeared and said: "Your Lord sends you greetings of peace and says: 'If you wish, I will turn the mountain of Safa into gold for them, but after that, if any of them disbelieves, I will punish him with a punishment that I have not given to anyone in the worlds. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I bear witness regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he led the prayer before delivering the sermon on the day of Eid, then he delivered the sermon. Afterwards, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) thought that the women might not have heard his voice, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the women, admonished and advised them, and instructed them to give charity.

Hadith 2174
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Eid prayer as two rak‘ahs, and in both rak‘ahs the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited only Surah Al-Fatihah and did not add any other surah to it (most likely, due to being far from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), the voice did not reach him).
Hadith 2175
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that in the plain of Arafat, a spear was fixed in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer with it in front of him, while donkeys were passing behind that spear (because the spear was being used as a sutrah).
Hadith 2176
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of the Battle of Ta’if, when the people of Ta’if were besieged, two of their slaves came out and joined the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set them free, one of whom was Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him). And it was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to set free all the slaves of the polytheists who came to him.
Hadith 2177
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Allah Almighty has made prayer obligatory upon you through the tongue of your Prophet: four rak‘ahs for the resident, two rak‘ahs for the traveler, and one rak‘ah for the one who prays in fear.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me near the well of Zamzam. Hadith 2184
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent his blessed letter to Kisra by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hudhafah (may Allah be pleased with him). He gave that letter to the governor of Bahrain appointed by Kisra so that he could present it to Kisra (according to custom). Thus, the governor of Bahrain presented that letter to Kisra. When he read the letter, he tore it up. Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) says that, according to my opinion, Sa'id bin al-Musayyib said after this that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) invoked a curse against him, saying: "May he too be completely torn to pieces in the same way."

Musa bin Salamah says that once Sinan bin Salamah and I set out on a journey from our home, and we had two camels with us. On the way, they became tired, so Sinan said to me: What do you think, should we go to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them)? Both of us went to him, then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith and said that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said that a man from the tribe of Juhainah asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! My father has become very old, and he has not been able to perform Hajj until now. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj on behalf of your father."

Abdur Rahman bin Wa'lah says that I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): "In our region, there is an abundance of grapes, and the most important commercial item there is wine." He replied: "There was a friend of the Prophet (peace be upon him) from the tribe of Daws. In the year of the conquest of Makkah, he came to meet the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Makkah and brought a waterskin of wine as a gift. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: 'O Abu so-and-so! Do you not know that Allah has declared wine unlawful for you after you?' Upon hearing this, the man turned to his slave and whispered to him to take it and sell it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him: 'What did you say to him?' He replied: 'I ordered him to go and sell it.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The One who has forbidden its drinking has also forbidden its buying and selling.' So, upon his order, the wine was poured out."

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the practice of hastening the riding animals was started by the Bedouin people; these people had stopped at the edges so that they could hang their staffs, quivers, and bowls. When they set out, they took these things along with them. They departed along with the people (but in the aforementioned manner). At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was seen in such a state that the back part of the ears of his she-camel was touching the camel driver, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was gesturing with his hands and saying, "People!
