Hadith 2555
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَهُمْ إِذَا أَتَى أَهْلَهُ , قَالَ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ ، اللَّهُمَّ جَنِّبْنِي الشَّيْطَانَ ، وَجَنِّبْ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنِي ، فَيُولَدُ بَيْنَهُمَا وَلَدٌ ، فيَضُرَّهُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَبَدًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person, when approaching his wife for intimacy, recites this supplication: «بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ اللّٰهُمَّ جَنِّبْنِي الشَّيْطَانَ وَجَنِّبْ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنِي» 'In the name of Allah, O Allah! Protect me from Satan and protect whatever offspring You grant us from Satan,' then if it is decreed that they have a child, Satan will never be able to harm that child."
Hadith 2556
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلِّمُوا ، وَيَسِّرُوا ، وَلَا تُعَسِّرُوا ، وَإِذَا غَضِبْتَ فَاسْكُتْ ، وَإِذَا غَضِبْتَ فَاسْكُتْ ، وَإِذَا غَضِبْتَ فَاسْكُتْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Teach people knowledge, make things easy, do not create difficulties," and he said three times, "When any one of you becomes angry, he should remain silent."
Hadith 2557
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " جَمَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، فِي غَيْرِ سَفَرٍ وَلَا خَوْفٍ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا الْعَبَّاسِ ، وَلِمَ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ : أَرَادَ أَنْ لَا يُحْرِجَ أَحَدًا مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) combined the Zuhr and Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers in Madinah Munawwarah. At that time, there was neither any fear nor rain. Someone asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) what the purpose of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in doing so. He replied that the purpose of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was that his Ummah should not be in difficulty.
Hadith 2558
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : ذَهَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْبَرَازِ ، فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ ، ثُمَّ قُرِّبَ لَهُ طَعَامٌ ، فَقَالُوا : أَنَأْتِيكَ بِوَضُوءٍ ؟ فَقَالَ : " مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ أَتَوَضَّأُ ؟ ! أُصَلِّي فَأَتَوَضَّأُ أَوَصَلَّيْتُ فَأَتَوَضَّأُ ؟ ! " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the toilet, then came out, asked for food, and began to eat. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Will you not perform ablution? He replied: "Why, am I about to pray that I should perform ablution?"
Hadith 2559
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : نِمْتُ عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ ، " فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، فَأَتَى الْحَاجَةَ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ نَامَ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، فَأَتَى الْقِرْبَةَ ، فَأَطْلَقَ شِنَاقَهَا ، فَتَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءًا بَيْنَ الْوُضُوءَيْنِ لَمْ يُكْثِرْ ، وَقَدْ أَبْلَغَ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي ، وَتَمَطَّيْتُ كَرَاهَةَ أَنْ يَرَانِي كُنْتُ أَبْقِيهِ ، يَعْنِي : أَرْقُبُهُ ، ثُمَّ قُمْتُ فَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا فَعَلَ ، فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ، فَأَخَذَ بِمَا يَلِي أُذُنِي حَتَّى أَدَارَنِي ، فَكُنْتُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي ، فَتَتَامَّتْ صَلَاتُهُ إِلَى ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً ، فِيهَا رَكْعَتَا الْفَجْرِ ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ ، فَنَامَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ بِلَالٌ ، فَآذَنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I once spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt, Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Maymunah bint Harith (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up during the night, relieved himself, then came and washed his face and hands and lay down again. After some part of the night had passed, he woke up again, came to the water-skin, untied its string, and performed ablution thoroughly. Then he stood up to pray. I kept waiting for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he would not see me. Then I stood up and did what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had done, and came and stood on his left side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took me by the ear and turned me, so I ended up on his right side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to pray during this time. The total number of rak‘ahs of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) prayer was thirteen, including the two sunnah rak‘ahs of Fajr. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down and slept until the sound of his snoring could be heard. After a short while, Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came and informed about the prayer, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to lead the prayer and did not perform fresh ablution.
Hadith 2560
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " تَزَوَّجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ ، وَاحْتَجَمَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married (Sayyidah Maymunah, may Allah be pleased with her) while in the state of Ihram and had cupping done while in the state of Ihram.
Hadith 2561
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَجْلَحِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَشِئْتَ , فَقَالَ : " جَعَلْتَنِي لِلَّهِ عَدْلًا ، بَلْ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whatever Allah wills and whatever you will." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you making me equal to Allah? Rather say: Whatever Allah alone wills."
Hadith 2562
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ الْجَزَرِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مِقْسَمًا مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَيْتَ ، فَدَعَا فِي نَوَاحِيهِ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that after entering the House of Allah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated in all its corners, and after coming out, he performed two units of prayer.
Hadith 2563
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ رُفَيْعٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ , سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : " لَمْ يَنْزِلْ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ عَرَفَاتٍ وَجَمْعٍ إِلَّا لِيُهَرِيقَ الْمَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped between Arafat and Muzdalifah only so that water could be drained.
Hadith 2564
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَبَّى حَتَّى رَمَى جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to recite the Talbiyah until the stoning of Jamrah Aqabah.
Hadith 2565
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَيْمُونَةَ بِسَرِفَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) at the place of Sarif while he was in the state of ihram.
Hadith 2566
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَحَمَّتْ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ ، فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ فَضْلِهَا ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي اغْتَسَلْتُ مِنْهُ , فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمَاءَ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that one of the noble wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ghusl after janabah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ghusl or wudu with the leftover water from her. That wife asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Nothing makes water impure."
Hadith 2567
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : بِتُّ فِي بَيْتِ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ ، فَرَقَبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ يُصَلِّي ، فَقَامَ فَبَالَ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَكَفَّيْهِ ، ثُمَّ نَامَ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ ، فَعَمَدَ إِلَى الْقِرْبَةِ فَأَطْلَقَ شِنَاقَهَا ، ثُمَّ صَبَّ فِي الْجَفْنَةِ ، أَوْ الْقَصْعَةِ ، وَأَكَبَّ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهَا ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءًا حَسَنًا بَيْنَ الْوُضُوءَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي ، فَجِئْتُ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ، فَأَخَذَنِي ، فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، فَتَكَامَلَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ نَامَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ ، وَكُنَّا نَعْرِفُهُ إِذَا نَامَ بِنَفْخِهِ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى ، وَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ، أَوْ فِي سُجُودِهِ : " اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا ، وَفِي سَمْعِي نُورًا ، وَفِي بَصَرِي نُورًا ، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي نُورًا ، وَعَنْ يَسَارِي نُورًا ، وَأَمَامِي نُورًا ، وَخَلْفِي نُورًا ، وَفَوْقِي نُورًا ، وَتَحْتِي نُورًا ، وَاجْعَلْنِي نُورًا " , قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : أَوْ قَالَ : " اجْعَلْ لِي نَوَرًا " , قَالَ : وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّهُ نَامَ مُضْطَجِعًا .

And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate in his prayer or prostration: «اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا وَفِي سَمْعِي نُورًا وَفِي بَصَرِي نُورًا وَعَنْ يَمِينِي نُورًا وَعَنْ يَسَارِي نُورًا وَأَمَامِي نُورًا وَخَلْفِي نُورًا وَفَوْقِي نُورًا وَتَحْتِي نُورًا وَاجْعَلْنِي نُورًا» “O Allah! Place light in my heart, in my ears, in my eyes, on my right, on my left, in front of me, behind me, above me, and beneath me, and make me all light.”
Hadith 2568
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عبد الله , عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ عِنْدَ الْكَرْبِ : " لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْعَظِيمُ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ ، رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was afflicted with hardship, he used to say: «لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ» "There is no deity except Allah, the Most Great, the Most Forbearing. There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no deity except Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and the Noble Throne."

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ حَرْمَلَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : أَهْدَتْ خَالَتِي أُمُّ حُفَيْدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمْنًا ، وَلَبَنًا ، وَأَضُبًّا ، فَأَمَّا الْأَضُبُّ فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَفَلَ عَلَيْهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ : قَذِرْتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ أَوْ أَجَلْ " , وَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّبَنَ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُوَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ : " أَمَا إِنَّ الشَّرْبَةَ لَكَ ، وَلَكِنْ أَتَأْذَنُ أَنْ أَسْقِيَ عَمَّكَ ؟ " , فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قُلْتُ : لَا ، وَاللَّهِ مَا أَنَا بِمُؤْثِرٍ عَلَى سُؤْرِكَ أَحَدًا , قَالَ : فَأَخَذْتُهُ ، فَشَرِبْتُ ، ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا أَعْلَمُ شَرَابًا يُجْزِئُ عَنِ الطَّعَامِ غَيْرَ اللَّبَنِ ، فَمَنْ شَرِبَهُ مِنْكُمْ ، فَلْيَقُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ ، وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ ، وَمَنْ طَعِمَ طَعَامًا ، فَلْيَقُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ ، وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that once my maternal aunt Umm Hufayq sent clarified butter, milk, and a lizard as a gift to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the lizard and spat it out to the side. Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “Perhaps you dislike it?” He replied, “Yes!” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the vessel of milk and drank from it. I was on the right side of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) was on the left. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The right to drink is yours, but if you permit, I will give it to your uncle to drink?” I said, “I cannot give preference to anyone over your leftover.” So I took the vessel of milk and drank from it, and then gave it to Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever Allah feeds, let him say this supplication: «اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ» ‘O Allah! Bless us in it and provide us better than it,’ and whoever Allah gives milk to drink, let him say this supplication: «اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ» ‘O Allah! Bless us in it and increase it for us,’ for to my knowledge, nothing suffices for both food and drink except milk.”
Hadith 2570
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " تَبَرَّزَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِحَاجَتِهِ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ ، فَأُتِيَ بِعَرْقٍ ، فَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ " , وَزَادَ عَمْرٌو عَلَيَّ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّكَ لَمْ تَتَوَضَّأْ ! قَالَ : " مَا أَرَدْتُ الصَّلَاةَ فَأَتَوَضَّأَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the toilet, then came out, asked for food, and began to eat. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Will you not perform ablution? He replied: "Why? Am I about to pray that I should perform ablution?"
Hadith 2571
(حديث مرفوع) قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ , وَجَدْتُ هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَرَّاقُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا شَرِبَ تَنَفَّسَ مَرَّتَيْنِ فِي الشَّرَابِ " , وَكَتَبَ أَبِي فِي أَثَرِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، لَا أُرَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ سَمِعَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drank any beverage, he would breathe twice during drinking it.
Hadith 2572
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ الْعَصَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَبَلَةُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " تَضَيَّفْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهِيَ خَالَتِي ، وَهِيَ لَيْلَةَ إِذْ لَا تُصَلِّي ، فَأَخَذَتْ كِسَاءً فَثَنَتْهُ ، وَأَلْقَتْ عَلَيْهِ نُمْرُقَةً ، ثُمَّ رَمَتْ عَلَيْهِ بِكِسَاءٍ آخَرَ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ فِيهِ ، وَبَسَطَتْ لِي بِسَاطًا إِلَى جَنْبِهَا ، وَتَوَسَّدْتُ مَعَهَا عَلَى وِسَادِهَا ، فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَدْ صَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ ، فَأَخَذَ خِرْقَةً فَتَوَزَرَ بِهَا ، وَأَلْقَى ثَوْبَهُ ، وَدَخَلَ مَعَهَا لِحَافَهَا ، وَبَاتَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ ، قَامَ إِلَى سِقَاءٍ مُعَلَّقٍ فَحَرَّكَهُ ، فَهَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَقُومَ فَأَصُبَّ عَلَيْهِ ، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ يَرَى أَنِّي كُنْتُ مُسْتَيْقِظًا ، قَالَ : فَتَوَضَّأَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى الْفِرَاشَ ، فَأَخَذَ ثَوْبَيْهِ ، وَأَلْقَى الْخِرْقَةَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى الْمَسْجِدَ ، فَقَامَ فِيهِ يُصَلِّي ، وَقُمْتُ إِلَى السِّقَاءِ ، فَتَوَضَّأْتُ ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ، فَتَنَاوَلَنِي فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، فَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً ، ثُمَّ قَعَدَ ، وَقَعَدْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ ، فَوَضَعَ مِرْفَقَهُ إِلَى جَنْبيِ ، وَأَصْغَى بِخَدِّهِ إِلَى خَدِّي ، حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ نَفَسَ النَّائِمِ ، فَبَيْنَا أَنَا كَذَلِكَ إِذْ جَاءَ بِلَالٌ ، فَقَالَ : الصَّلَاةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَسَارَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَاتَّبَعْتُهُ ، فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْ الْفَجْرِ ، وَأَخَذَ بِلَالٌ فِي الْإِقَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt, Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). She took a sheet, folded it, placed a pillow on it, spread another sheet, covered herself with it, and lay down. She had spread a bed for me beside her, and I lay down with my head on the same pillow. After performing the 'Isha prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also arrived, removed his clothes, tied his lower garment, covered himself with the blanket, and lay down. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slept. When half the night had passed, or a little before or after it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up and sat, then stood and went towards a hanging water-skin. At first, I thought I should get up and help the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his ablution, but then I felt it was not appropriate for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to know I was awake. In any case, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution, removed his lower garment, put on his clothes, and came to the mosque to stand for prayer. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: I also stood up and did as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did, and went to stand on his left side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his right hand on my head and moved me to his right side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), along with me, performed a total of thirteen rak‘ahs. Then he sat down, and I sat beside him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his elbow on my side and brought his cheek close to mine until I heard the sound of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) snoring. Shortly after, Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The prayer. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) proceeded towards the mosque, and I followed behind. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and performed two light rak‘ahs, and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) began to pronounce the iqamah.
Hadith 2573
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ التَّمِيمِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَذَكَرَ شَيْئًا ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُكْثِرُ السِّوَاكَ " ، قَالَ : حَتَّى ظَنَنَّا أَوْ رَأَيْنَا أَنَّهُ سَيُنْزَلُ عَلَيْهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used the miswak so frequently that we began to fear that a verse of the Qur'an might be revealed regarding it (and the ummah might not be able to fulfill this command).
Hadith 2574
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ خَطَبَ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ , وَعُمَرُ , وَعُثْمَانُ ، فِي الْعِيدِ بِغَيْرِ أَذَانٍ وَلَا إِقَامَةٍ " , قَالَ أَبِي : قَدْ سَمِعَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar, and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them all), all of them used to lead the Eid prayer before the sermon without any call to prayer (adhan) or iqamah.
Hadith 2575
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنِي عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي , حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ شُفَيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُمْ جَعَلُوا يَسْأَلُونَهُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي السَّفَرِ ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ لَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once some people began to ask him about the prayer during travel. He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), after leaving his home until he returned, used to perform only two rak‘ahs (shortened prayer).
Hadith 2576
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ الْأَحْمَرُ ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَصْلُحُ قِبْلَتَانِ فِي مِصْرٍ وَاحِدٍ ، وَلَا عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ جِزْيَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There cannot be two qiblahs in one city, and there is no tax upon a Muslim."
Hadith 2577
حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، رَفَعَهُ أَيْضًا , قَالَ : " لَا تَصْلُحُ قِبْلَتَانِ فِي أَرْضٍ ، وَلَيْسَ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ جِزْيَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There cannot be two qiblahs in one land, and there is no tax upon a Muslim."

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ رِشْدِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ مَرَّتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drank any beverage, he would breathe twice during drinking it.
Hadith 2579
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَبَّى فِي دُبُرِ الصَّلَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited the Talbiyah after the prayer.
Hadith 2580
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَبِّي تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى " , وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ أَبِي ، أَمْلَى عَلَيَّ فِي مَوْضِعٍ آخَرَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have visited my Lord."
Hadith 2581
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " تَزَوَّجَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) married Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) while he was in the state of Ihram.
Hadith 2582
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ " صَلَّى سَبْعًا جَمِيعًا ، وَثَمَانِيًا جَمِيعًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I prayed eight rak'ahs (of Zuhr and Asr) together with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I also prayed seven rak'ahs (of Maghrib and Isha) together.
Hadith 2583
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ بِعَرَفَاتٍ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا ، فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ ، فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon in the plain of Arafat and said: "If one does not find an izar (lower garment) to tie below, he should wear trousers, and if he does not find shoes, he should wear socks."
Hadith 2584
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ يحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعَةٍ ، وَلَا أَكُفَّ شَعَرًا وَلَا ثَوْبًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to prostrate on seven bones, and I have been forbidden from gathering up clothes and hair during prayer."
Hadith 2585
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَنْ بَيْعِ الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَسْتَوْفِيَهُ أَوْ يُسْتَوْفَى " , وقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : أَحْسِبُ الْبُيُوعَ كُلَّهَا بِمَنْزِلَتِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling grain before taking possession of it. In my opinion, this applies to everything.
Hadith 2586
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لَا تَتَّخِذُوا شَيْئًا فِيهِ الرُّوحُ غَرَضًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not use any living being as a target after tying it up."
Hadith 2587
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ ، وَابْنِ عَطَاءٍ أنهما سمعا عطاء ، يُحَدِّثُ : عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) married Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) while he was in the state of Ihram.
Hadith 2588
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعَةٍ ، وَلَا أَكُفَّ شَعَرًا وَلَا ثَوْبًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to prostrate on seven bones, and forbidden from gathering up clothes and hair during prayer."
Hadith 2589
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ ابْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُحْرِمًا صَائِمًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done and blood was drawn, while he was in the state of ihram and was also fasting.
Hadith 2590
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعَةٍ ، وَلَا أَكُفَّ شَعَرًا وَلَا ثَوْبًا " .

Hadith 2591
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، وَأَيُّوبَ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا صُرِعَ مِنْ رَاحِلَتِهِ ، وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ ، فَمَاتَ ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ " يَغْسِلُوهُ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ , وَأَنْ يُكَفِّنُوهُ فِي ثَوْبَيْهِ , وَأَنْ لَا يُخَمِّرُوا رَأْسَهُ , فَإِنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مُلَبِّيًا " , وَقَالَ أَيُّوبُ : مُلَبِّدًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man was participating in Hajj with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). While in the state of Ihram, he fell from his camel, his neck broke, and he died. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bathe him with water mixed with lote tree leaves, shroud him in his two Ihram garments, do not apply perfume to him, and do not cover his head, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the Talbiyah."
Hadith 2592
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَرَى بَأْسًا أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ ، وَيَقُولُ : " إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ بِمَاءٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : سَرِفُ ، وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَجَّهُ ، أَقْبَلَ ، حَتَّى كَانَ بِذَلِكَ الْمَاءِ ، أَعْرَسَ بِهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he did not consider there to be any harm in contracting marriage while in the state of Ihram, and he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself contracted marriage with Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) at a place called Sarf while in the state of Ihram. And after completing Hajj, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out to return, he reached the same place and spent the night with her.
Hadith 2593
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ شَهِدَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ " صَلَّى فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ ، ثُمَّ خَطَبَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى النِّسَاءَ فَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ ، فَجَعَلْنَ يُلْقِينَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I bear witness regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he led the prayer before the sermon on the day of Eid, then delivered the sermon, then went to the women and admonished and advised them, and instructed them to give charity, upon which the women began to give charity (by taking off their earrings and rings).
