It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered Sayyidah Fatimah, Sayyiduna al-Hasan and Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them), then brought them under his cloak, and then said: "O Allah, these are my family (Ahl al-Bayt)." Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, include me with them as well. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You too are of my family."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would go to his wives in the morning and greet them with salam. One of these wives had some honey, and whenever he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her, she would offer him (peace and blessings be upon him) some of that honey, and because of that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would stay with her. Sayyidah Aishah and Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with them both) were displeased by this, so when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them, they both said: We perceive the smell of ma'afir (a foul-smelling gum) from you. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave up that honey.
