Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Nu'm (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) told him that he walked with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) came to one of those valleys and entered it, relieved himself, then came out, performed ablution and took off his leather socks. Then, when he had put the socks on, he afterwards sensed that wind had passed, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution again and wiped over the leather socks. I said: "O Prophet of Allah! Did you forget?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather it is you who forgot. My Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, has commanded me thus."
