حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَأَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَا , ثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: أَكَلْتُ يَوْمًا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي , فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاتَهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ أَكَلَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ شَيْئًا فَلَا يَقْرَبَنَّ مَسْجِدَنَا» قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ , نَاوِلْنِي يَدَكَ , فَأَدْخَلْتُهَا صَدْرِي فَرَآهُ مَعْصُوبًا فَقَالَ: «إِلَّا مِنْ عُذْرٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: One day I ate, then came to the mosque while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading the prayer. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) completed his prayer, he said: "Whoever eats anything from this plant (garlic and the like) must not come near our mosque." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Give me your hand." So I put his (peace and blessings be upon him) hand (inside my shirt) onto my chest, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw that it was bandaged, so he said: "Except for one who has an excuse."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حِسَابٍ، ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، وَعَمْرِو بْنِ صَالِحٍ وَحُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ , عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَدَ رِيحَ ثُومٍ فَقَالَ: «فَمَنْ هَذَا؟» قَالَ: الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ , أَعْزِمُ عَلَيْكَ أَوْ أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَمَا أَدْخَلْتَ يَدَكَ , فَإِذَا عَلَى صَدْرِه حِزَامٌ , قَالَ: «أَرَى لَكَ عُذْرًا»
Abu Burdah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) noticed the smell of garlic and said: "Who is this?" (Sayyiduna) Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "(It is I.) O Messenger of Allah! I adjure you to put your hand (on my chest)." And there was a bandage tied on his chest. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I see that you have an excuse."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ النَّسَوِيُّ، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، ثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ رُدَيْحٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، قَالَ: آخِرُ غَزَاةٍ غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَمْسَحَ عَلَى خِفَافِنَا: «لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ , وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ مَا لَمْ يَخْلَعْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: In the last military expedition we fought alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to wipe over our leather socks: "For the traveller three days and their nights, and for the resident one day and one night, as long as he does not take them off."
