Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 18125 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَعَمٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: تَوَضَّأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ , أَنَسِيتَ؟ قَالَ: «بَلْ أَنْتَ نَسِيتَ , بِهَذَا أَمَرَنِي رَبِّي»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks, so I said: O Messenger of Allah! Did you forget? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Rather, it is you who forgot. My Lord has commanded me thus."
