حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثَنَا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثَنَا مِنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَعَمٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَسِيتَ؟ فَقَالَ: «بَلْ أَنْتَ نَسِيتَ , بِهَذَا أَمَرَنِي رَبِّي»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks, so I said: O Messenger of Allah! Did you forget? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, it is you who forgot. My Lord has commanded me thus."
