Abd al-Rahman bin Maysarah said: I heard Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'di Karib (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "Water for ablution was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he performed ablution. He washed his palms three times, then washed his face three times, then washed his forearms three times, and rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose three times each. Then he wiped his head and his two ears - their outer and inner sides - and washed his feet three times each."
