It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man divorced and did not take witnesses, and took back his wife and did not take witnesses. He said: "He divorced contrary to the waiting period (iddah), and took her back contrary to the Sunnah; now let him take witnesses to his divorce and to his taking her back."

A man said to Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him): I divorced my wife openly and took her back secretly? Sayyiduna Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "You divorced contrary to the waiting period (iddah), and took her back contrary to the Sunnah. Fear Allah and take witnesses."

Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on one of his journeys when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his voice reciting these two verses: "O people, fear your Lord. Indeed, the quake of the Hour is a tremendous thing. On the Day you see it, every nursing mother will forget the infant she is nursing" [Al-Hajj: 2]. When we heard that, we urged our mounts on, and we knew that this was when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was about to say something. When the people gathered around him (peace and blessings be upon him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know which day that is?" The Companions said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is the Day when Adam (peace be upon him) will be called; his Lord will call him and say: O Adam, stand and send forth the party of Hell. He will say: O my Lord, how many are the party of Hell? He will say: From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety." When the Companions heard this, they were stunned into silence, until not one of them was seen smiling. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw their state, he smiled and said: "Act and rejoice. By the One in whose Hand is my soul, there are with you two creations that have never been with anyone except that they outnumbered them." The Companions said: Who are they, O Prophet of Allah? He said: "Gog and Magog (Ya'juj and Ma'juj), and those of the children of Adam and of Iblis who perished." Then he said: "Act and rejoice. By the One in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are among mankind only like a mole on the flank of a camel, or a mark on the foreleg of an animal."
